Jul 24 2009'Where the Wild Things Are' Featurette: Author Approved

where-wild-things-featurett.jpg

Another reminder to stay non-bedridden until at least after October 16th: a new behind-the-scenes featurette for one of this fall's most anticipated releases, Where the Wild Things Are. In it, author Maurice Sendak voices his enthusiastic approval for Spike Jonze's adaptation, and draws parallels between himself and the director--plus, there's new, awe-inspiring footage. My expectations are reaching a point that, to meet them, the actual film strip is probably going to have to give me a handjob in the theater.

Or in HD at the Apple.

Awesome. I cried a little.

i have a 2 year old son and we both share a love for this book and i cant wait for the movie and to be able to share that with him aswell :)

I want to see the creepy version that execs though would scare kids.

Fourth!!!...... Looks like it will be a great flick. Loved the book as a kid and love spike.
Great mix

wow. I got a little teary-eyed too. Can't wait for this one!

at # 3: I think that is the version we are getting. I think the execs let Spike have his way, and I could not be more excited about this. I have a shelf in my office dedicated to the set of McFarlane figures which came out a few years back.

Must See!!

Am I the only one who's lost any and all of what little interest I might have had in seeing this film thanks to the endless hype?

oedura - Yes. Yes you are.

I like Maurice. He has the same flower-patterned tissue boxes as me, and doesn't bother to wipe his shed hairs off his shirt before doing an interview. He's a real dude.
