Good news if you're one the many Latin American children who are fans of the beloved, nanobot-based xXx toy, Max Steel! Here comes Max Steel: La Película!

Just weeks before Paramount Pictures invades theaters with "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra," the studio is teaming with Joe Roth to pick up Mattel's "Max Steel" as another action figure it wants to play with on the bigscreen.

The toy property revolves around a 19-year-old extreme sports junkie recruited by a secret agency after an accident infects his body with nanobots, making him superhuman.

Although Mattel introduced the character in the U.S. in 1999 as an action figure, and soon after in an animated series that ran from 2000-2002, he's proved more popular in Latin America, where Max Steel is the region's No. 1 action figure.

Finally, an action figure movie where I'm guaranteed not to be incredibly angered by the nostalgia-destroying results. Because I have no idea who a Max Steel is.

He sounds really awesome, though.

I remember Max Steel being a really lame CGI cartoon about a spy or something. I always thought the martial arts was going to be awesome, and then they would do the same kick punch combination every fight.

Think Reboot with spies.

latinamerican here.
i remember that when i watched cartoon network and such they ran ads for this guy. i never liked it, though. i was more into computers than toys.

Let's call it for what it is, MAX Steel is the trainer wheels for parents to get their boys to drop the Barbie and grab a big black and hard fallic plastic weapon, er, gun.

Don't believe the No. 1 in Latin America hype, went to Tijuana two month ago and what I say was aisles full of that crap with kids passing by without caring.

¡Mios Dios! ¡Nooo!

WTF!? Action Man was first

I remember watching this show when i was a little kid n the opening cinematic was just badass. I remember it was a lot like the ending of Terminator 2.
