Jul 2 2009'Planet 51' Trailer: The Plot to 'E.T.' is on the Other Foot
We've all seen E.T..* We know what happens when an alien accidentally finds itself stranded on Earth: a boy tends to him, the government tries to capture him, and then the audience cries. But what if that alien were MAN??? And instead of Earth, it were PLANET SHREK! What then?
Basically the same thing, but with more broad comedy and generic characters:
Make sure to pay attention around the 2-minute point for the shot that reveals Astronaut and his robot making it safely back to their ship.
*You have seen E.T., right? You should. It's really good.

Wow. Incredible (not).
I'm just waiting to see how they do a CGI comedy about photons, since I've heard rumors that various actors playing popular sci-fi characters (Chris Pine, William Shatner, Mark Hammill, virtually everyone else you can think of) are going to be in a CGI comedy about photons.
What's next? A CGI comedy about talking post-it notes?

I AM kind OF ashamed FOR admitting THis But THAT acutally MADE ME LAUGH!!!!!!!! ALOT
the part about the alien writing being the bar code and the part about the baby drinking the medicine, or the robot peeing ink, i dont know it was really funny

How do they explain the astronauts ability to speak the same language as the aliens? Or do the aliens speak our language?

So basically this movie is just the human repeatedly bursting in on everyday alien lifestyle scanarios and standing awkwardly while the aliens stare at him in shock for about 3 seconds before reacting in various humorous ways?
I counted at least 4 cases of this in the trailer alone.

Uhh....
Is it me or is it weird that The Rock is playing a blonde, white guy?

kaka - I don't think that's ink, it's oil
and i do think it might take lesser intelligence, like that of a child, to laugh at what this trailer (and probably the entire movie) has to offer
it is a shame that The Rock is playing a blond-haired, blue-eyed, white guy..NASA is more diverse than that, right?
Dwayne Johnson, Seann William Scott, Jessica Biel, Justin Long, Gary Oldman, and John Cleese..I'm somewhat disappointed.
