Jul 6 2009Another '80s TV Series Remembered, Immediately Put on Film Fast-Track

Guess what. There's this now:

"T.J. Hooker" is headed for the bigscreen as an action comedy with David Foster, Ryan Heppe and series creator Rick Husky producing.

Chuck Russell ("The Scorpion King," "The Mask") is in talks to direct. The writing team of Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson will script the story, which focuses on the relationship between the title character and his father.

No actors have been cast yet for the feature.

The TV series, produced by Aaron Spelling, debuted in 1982 on ABC and ran for five seasons, the last on CBS. William Shatner starred as a no-nonsense patrol sergeant, with Adrian Zmed, Heather Locklear, Richard Herd and James Darren as co-stars.

The director of The Scorpion King and the writers of multiple Tremors films. I guess the director of The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior and the writers of the other Tremors films are busy with that remake of Hardball. (I think I'm joking about a remake of Hardball.)

Even the promise of William Shatner going on talk shows and going on crazy rants about how he'll always be the genuine T.J. Hooker is not enough to warrant the existence of this.

First! Ha HA! Suck it internetzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I WEAR THONG AND DO NOT APPROVE

THONG JOHN THONG JOHN! *chant with me* THONG JOHN THONG JOHN

Remember at the beginning of the first "Charlie's Angels" movie where LL Cool J was on the airplane, and he sits down and "T.J. Hooker: The Movie" comes on as the in-flight movie, and he says how he hates when they make movies from an old tv show? He was referencing the very movie he was in at the time, but I just found it ironic. Now I think he was actually predicting the future

I can't wait until they remake "NCIS" as a movie in 30 years.

Lame! EVERYone knows TJ Hooker was an orphan! This is just a cheap ploy to try to get Shatner to do a cameo as his own father...or....something...

We had William Shatner as the answer on our Millionaire show on TV here last night and Id forgotten that he played TJ Hooker. Bet he hasnt though!
