Jun 9 2009Liam Neeson's on the Jazz
Qui-Gon Jinn really enjoys when a scheme works outs! Variety is reporting Liam Neeson is in talks to put a cigar in his mouth and be John "Hannibal" Smith in Joe Carnahan's A-Team film, while The Hangover's Bradley Cooper may be playing "Faceman":
Liam Neeson is in negotiations with 20th Century Fox to star in its long-gestating bigscreen adaptation of "The A-Team" as Col. John "Hannibal" Smith. Bradley Cooper is in early talks to play Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck in the Joe Carnahan-directed pic based on the 1980s TV series.Production begins in late August for a June 11, 2010, release.
Ridley Scott is producing with Jules Daly and series creator Stephen J. Cannell, with Tony Scott exec producing through Scott Free. Carnahan and Brian Bloom polished a script by Skip Woods, whose recent script credits include "G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra" and "Wolverine."
Oh, good, the writer of Wolverine and G.I. Joe. That has to be a solid script then.
As you can see in the original television intro, now the only main roles left to fill are "Howling Mad" Murdock, B.A. Baracus, and constant crashing and explosions.

If Mr. T isn't completely shattered, they should probably give him his role back... he's been practicing for so long now.

I don't want to see it, but Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper are compelling me to.

guess we'll be seeing the a-team complete with new ultra tech body suits enabling them to jump over buildings and a van with stealth sheilding powered by a nuclear core. their adversary will likely be some polished megalomaniac threating the entire globe.
at least we will get to see liam neeson as opposed to dennis (i look more and more like randy every day i age) quaid.

This just sounds like an all-around bad idea.

I wonder if they will stick with no one ever getting shot like they did in the TV series. They had maching guns shooting all over the place, hitting tires of moving cars, etc, but the bad guys always seemed to be missed. I loved how they would always jump out of the way of explosions and get up afterward.

Quintin "Rampage" Jackson must play B.A.

I can work with Liam Neeson playing Hannibal but I thought Mel Gibson would have been a better choice (looks and personality wise). Bradley Cooper will be an awesome Face. I can't think of many people who would be any good as Murdock or BA... maybe Casey Affleck as Murdock and I can only think of Mr T for the part of BA, perhaps Ving Rhames if he isn't too old.
