May 6 2009More From That 'Sherlock Holmes' Detective Man Movie

Though Data and Geordi in the Enterprise holodeck will always be my go-to Sherlock Holmes point of reference, because I'm a nerd, USA Today's article and accompanying photo set covering Guy Ritchie's take on the famous detective have given me some renewed interest in the action-adventure reinterpretation. Even producer Joel Silver's quote, "Audiences are interested in seeing something they know," wasn't quite enough to discourage me about this project. You can't fault him for being depressingly honest.

I saw these the other day. They look great. Aside from Sherlock being shorter and fatter than Watson, of course.

where's the trailer?? jeeze I'm actually excited for a trailer....

Oh god, C'mon this looks weak. maybe a good trailor would change my mind. There are no new stories ever written anymore, it's all a rip of of the past. Look at this years blockbusters (although the all look cool) star trek (remake) T4, Transformormers2, Gi Joe, what's next redo back to the future or a real life version of duck tales. I dieing for a new story of something origanal.

Glad they're doing a new Sherlock. Haven't seen any of the older films, apart from "Dressed to Kill" a few weeks ago, and so I'm pretty much spared any sentimentality, and frankly, welcome an updated version with fresh acting and style. I'm very much looking forward to this.

I wonder if Ritchie is going to do his signature slick filmic stylization, or if he'll use a more straightforward method to better capture the antique atmosphere? Either way, I'm cautiously optimistic.

I will drool over ANYTHING RDjr is in. (Um, yes, I'm a girl.)

Hmmm, a live action version of Duck Tails doesn't sound like a bad idea. . .

That Victorian tee set is quite interesting.

Fuck you, Moriarty!

I'm actually looking forward to the BBC mini series about Sherlock Holmes, because Steven Moffat >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Guy Ritchie.
