May 7 2009'District 9' Delivers Hot, Uncensored Alien Action

district-9-subtitled-teaser.jpg

Remember that District 9 trailer from a week ago? It was the one about alien apartheid, where the alien's face was pixelated and his alien language left untranslated. Anyway, there's a new version with no pixelation and translated subtitles, and it turns out these aliens might be alright guys:

The problem is, aliens can never say they come in peace, because even the hostile ones say they come in peace. We've heard that song and dance. So if you're really coming in peace, why did you not bring us some cool alien stuff? And since when does a friendly species look a character from an Orkin commercial? Let's hear some answers, alien.

the alien dude is much cooler with the subtitles on. what the hell was the deal with the non-subbed one, then? racist, much? we're trying to end apartheid here.

Very cool. I wonder how this is gonna play out...either they really dont mean us harm and end up doing us harm cause of stupid decisions/reactions by the human race...or they are lying and really do mean us harm.

Either way it looks cool as fuck.

This film just leaked online if you KNOW where to find it. It's amazing.

i think they redid it cause people were so caught up on the alien being sensored, that it was a distraction from the actual trailer. cause alot people was confused with it being censored.

i was like its a damn, documentary style of film. its a bit of a joke. why asked stupid questions. the movie looks cool.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaH!

I was hoping it was because the aliens had vaginas with cocks coming out of them for mouths. That would just have made sense!

It appears there's quite an ARG attached to it

This looks pimp. Am I imagining it, or is this expanded from a short film that came out a few years ago?

#9, you might be thinking of "Alive in Joburg" (www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNReejO7Zu8) - I know that's what I was thinking of. That and Alien Nation. I feel like I've already seen this movie.

I have to admit to looking forward to this movie. That probably means it will disappoint. At this moment in time, though, it looks pretty awesome.

Why are they using music from another movie to promote this one? (Cliff Martinez - Solaris OST)
That's super lame.
Pay for your own music to be written.

"Why are they using music from another movie to promote this one?"

Many trailers do that. Corpse Bride used music from Nightmare before Xmas, Two Towers use the theme from Requiem for a Dream. It's all to convey the same idea and getting viewer's attention.

US illegal immigrant allegory. Ugh......

Actually more of an honest look at immigration by fate, rather then choice with the dial turned up to 10. No matter what society (U.S., England, France, etc) when most groups are confronted with a large, out-group that happens to look or act different their reactions are usually the same... their taking up too much resources/jobs, causing all the crime, make them keep to themselves, BUT complain their not assimilating to the native culture, and of course "why can't they just go back where they come from?"

To be honest though If a ship full of cosmic grasshoppers or space roaches decided to live next door I'm probably moving. You hope for "Vulcans" or "Alien Nation" at least, but usually you get "V" or "Predator".

+1 for V

Cliff Martinez wrote that crap before Solaris, douche.
