May 19 2009'A Christmas Carol' Still Pointless and Slightly Repulsive
Disney has released a new image and short clip from Robert Zemeckis's A Christmas Carol, confirming that, yes, the computer-animated rehashing of the Dickens classic still appears to be superfluous and moderately unsettling to look at, and Jim Carrey's wacky, fluctuating voice is not helping:

I really don't want to watch the clip. Judging from the still, the animation looks like crap. Why bother to animate something that's been filmed dozens of times if you're not even going to make it look good?

did they go back to the 90s to animate this movie?? it's gross looking..

Dammit Zemeckis. I find it hard to believe that you fell into this after doing great things back in the 80s.

Haha yeah #4...
I heard this was shot on location in the Uncanny Valley.
Zemeckis put up a production compound there.

i mean... C'MON!! the voice doesnt even match the characters looks!! he is old and cratchety, should sound like brooks from shawshank! and thetexture around his lips look like they are chapped and not like wrinkley skin. this is bad. on so many levels.

I hate this style of animation.
The Muppets Christmas Carol has always been the only one I'd watch, and it will remain that way!

I thought scrooge was so-so, but the ghost was just so horribly animated I couldn't believe they released this on purpose. I wish Jim Carrey had used the time he spent with this movie on something else, so I could watch that in leu of this crapfest of epic proportions.

I hope this is experimental because it lacks a lot.Just not convincing enough.Luckily there's still some time.

@ haha - The Muppets Christmas Carol is a tradition in my house. No one can ever beat Statler and Waldorf singing "Marley & Marley."

I wonder who's greenlighting all these Zemeckis computer animation films.. They never do well with sales and they look horrible yet every couple of years later is another one to bomb at the boxoffice. This one does look better then the rest but I think he's gonna wait for technology to catch up to the point they are less lifeless.

Blah Blah Blah its animated. Stop bitching. What the hell is wrong with all you people. And how does it look shit ? ide really like to see you do better. Cant your tiny little minds grasp the fact that 3D animation, motion tracking etc isn't easy ? everyone go and die. If you dont like the look of it don't watch it and shut the fuck up.

Before I draw nearer to that clip to which you point, answer me one question. Are these the shadows of the things that Will be, or are they shadows of things that May be, only?
