Thanks to Daniel for passing along this typically hilarious and incisive story from The Onion: Michael Bay Signs $50M Deal To Fuck Up 'Thundercats'. "No filmmaker working today has Bay's ability to somehow direct his actors to be both emotionless and melodramatic at once." So true.

@3: Do you need a better source to tell you that Michael Bay is a hack?

Michael Bay doesn't suck... if you like mindless Baby Boomer movies with a super linear plot line. The only thing that made Transformers watchable was Megan Fox's.... acting.
For those who care, Gerry O'Flagherty is directing the movie.

Is Bay on par with Spielberg ... hell NO, but people need to stop acting like - If only the Transformers movie had a different director it could have been this generation's Citizen Kane. The source material was a 20 min toy commercial posing as a cartoon from the 80's. It's a story about giant robots blowing shit up and punching each other really hard while humans try not to get stepped on, and for a summer movie popcorn muncher that's really all I need.
