Apr 10 2009New 'Public Enemies' Trailer, See?

public-enemies-intl-trailer.jpg

Hey, there's a new trailer for Public Enemies, which, if you've forgotten, is the new Michael Mann film that has Johnny Depp and Christian Bale facing off as John Dillinger and Notable Agent Who Hates Dillinger, respectively. Also starring: Marion Cotillard (the lady you didn't recognize who won an Academy Award a couple years ago) and Billy Crudup affecting a really convincing old-fashioney voice. Have it:

"Mmmm, wouldn't mind getting in the middle of that battle!" (Audience erupts in cheering; Bale and Depp look sheepish. Because I'm Oprah now, and they're on my show.)

I didn't know America had a "Golden Age of Crime." It does sound glorious.

awsome!

Two of the finest actors in the business.

Period.

This will be legendary.

'From the director of "Heat" and "Collateral". I'm glad how even Michael Mann doesn't want to remember the fact that he made "Miami Vice." Its a fact I've been trying (unsuccesfully) to remove from my memory, using ever increasing quantaties of alcohol.

Billy Crudup's voice here cracks me up... you can tell he's really trying... :)

Can me a stuck-up cinephile, but I think the look of Digital Video takes me out of the period-element of this film. It reminds me what I'm watching is modern... shooting myself in the face now....

or, eating a DICK DONUT:

oh boy, i need some fresh air

I love the shit out of Christian Bale, but his southern accent around 1:52 doesn't inspire confidence. Sounds like little kid Forrest Gump.

Now it would be really weird if Depp becomes the next Riddler.

And yeah, the digital video is very off-putting.

he directed miami vice probably because i'm pretty sure he was one of the creators of that show... or something
