Apr 14 2009'Ghostbusters 3' to Have Boys, Girls
I'm trying to hard to remain optimistic about Ghostbusters 3. It's all I have. So please, Dan Aykroyd, stop saying vague, worrying things like this:
“I know we’ll make that happen. But there will be a whole new generation that has to be trained, and that whole new generation will be led by an individual who you’ll all love when you meet him but I’m not going to tell you anything yet.”“They’ll be lots of cadets, boys and girls, who’ll be learning how to use the psychotron, the accelerators and all the new stuff, the neuron splitter, which is going to be the interplaner, interceptor and all these great tools that they’re going to have, to flip from dimension to dimension,” Aykroyd explained.
God, I pray he means 20-somethings, and is only referring to them as "boys and girls" because he's old. Can you imagine Ghostbusters with kids?
Never mind. That would be pretty good.

the neutrona wand on that toy is really floppy. i should look on ebay for one so my wife and i can play ghostbusters in the bedroom zone. she can be slimer.

You are seriously worried? I don't know, I like to give the original writers of the movie the benefit of a doubt that when they say "boys and girls" that they don't mean "a kids movie." It makes sense that he'd be referring to a 20+ trainees seeing that all of the original Ghostbusters are much old and even the upcoming video game is about training a new, younger, and fresh member to the team.
I'll be seeing this movie hoping for the best & expecting the worst (seeing the turn Ghostbuster 2 took us) but I certainly won't be expecting little 12 year-olds setting up Home Alone traps to unsuspecting ghoulies.

Ghostbusters 3. Starring Zac Efron and Lauren from The Hills.....also Bill Murray and the rest. With Kayne West doing the theme song.

And why in the second YouTube clip does the kid with the proton pack look like he's waving his junk? And "Dad" looks like a douche. Or the neighbor from Empty Nest, Joe Isuzu

i loved those proton packs...

I've noticed something (more and more) each time you post a story about Ghostbuster's with that picture: Harold Ramis is the ONLY person getting down to that wretched song.
Bill Murray seems to be phoning it in along with an aptly titled brother of blues Dan Aykroyd.
Even Ray Parker and Ernie Hudson look bored with the song/dance. Well, maybe Ray Parker a little less than Ernie Hudson...

Better yet, If they actually put those three in the movie as "GHOSTS"! Could you image a CGI horse toothed Gary Busey ghost flying right towards you! I don't know if I'd laugh or crap my pants.

who for the cast? i think they'll likely find everyone a protege to train. it would also be cool if they had a medium/real psychic or some shit come along later and join up (or someone else who likely didn't require much training) this would allow for a cast of 5 new ghostbusters. i feel like the girl is going to be the add on, it just seems like she would be the unlikely choice, the guys would likely consider ghostbusting a "man's job" to begin with and would change their mind after a display of talent. they're likely going to fall into usual roles.
the science geek - intelligent, scared and witty
the rogue - wreckless, talented if not foolhardy
the joker - jocular to the point of danger
the wiseman - grounded, the center of the group, the leader
the chick - mouthy, hot, (slightly eccentric if she used to be a psychic.)
my choices for these roles:
the science geek - jason segel
the rogue - jason lee
the joker - zack galifianackis
the wiseman - milo ventimiglia
the chick - zooey deschanel (in goth)
awesome film? or awesomest film?
13. B - April 15, 2009 10:23 AM
Zooey Deschanel - yes
milo ventimiglia - no.
jason lee - yes
the others...eh.
As long as no one from 1. the hills, 2. high school musical, 3. the OC/90210 are in it, I *should* be pretty okay with the casting. And I also agree about giovanni ribisi.

#1-
Why is she Slimer if you're the one sliming her?
15. Richard McBeef - April 15, 2009 3:46 PM
I would be using the beam on that neutrona wand to attack her slimer.
16. wendy - April 16, 2009 1:09 PM
It's positron glider not proton pack or whatever else people decide to call it. In the first movie "...bet he'll never slime a guy with a positron glider again." That's the only specific name ever given to it in the movie. The cartoon came up with proton pack.
