If Paul Thomas Anderson directed a Wes Anderson script, the seven minute opening to Rian Johnson's The Brothers Bloom would inevitably be the result. The Ricky Jay narration and frequent, dramatic camera push-ins of PTA have merged with the precocious, costumed children and slow-motion walking-to-music requirements of the Wes. When the two directors get to their daily afternoon Hulu watching session, they're going to spit take in each others faces at this:

Hulu is a bitch let canadians watch

This is all Woody Allen with a little Scorsese at the end.

I used to love Max Records - it was the only place you could find vintage Doors LPs in Kalamazoo...oh, the memories...

Sorry guys, beyond the Ricky J connection I don't see the PTA in this. PTA invented dramatic camera moves? Whah? Maybe it's time to re-watch a few movies made before 1992...

Yeah i agree, i freaking hate Hulu.com.
All the intresting videos are there, BUT I CANT SEE THEM :(

@1 and 5

Well USers can't watch Kenny vs. Spenny on Showcase.com, so big deal!

Also, do you think Bloom might be considered Confidence Man 2? Since he's the younger? Arrested Development reference?

I didn't like that narration terribly much

It sounds like the kids were instructed to imitate somebody else while trying to sound tough. They should just slap a sticker that says "If you like The Royal Tennenbaums or Napolean Dynamite, you'll love this!!"

BAD ASS. CANT WAIT TO SEE THIS. I MEAN LITERALLY CANT WAIT. FIND ME A GUN/.

haha totally agree with the 8th post. Luckily the actual movie has some real solid stars so I have a feeling it will all be good in the end. Just cut back a bit on the over-the-top child actors.

Kind of reminds me of Leverage, where the one chick can't act unless it's a con.
