Apr 23 2009'Brothers Bloom' Intro is Year's Best Mash-Up
If Paul Thomas Anderson directed a Wes Anderson script, the seven minute opening to Rian Johnson's The Brothers Bloom would inevitably be the result. The Ricky Jay narration and frequent, dramatic camera push-ins of PTA have merged with the precocious, costumed children and slow-motion walking-to-music requirements of the Wes. Sorry guys, beyond the Ricky J connection I don't see the PTA in this. PTA invented dramatic camera moves? Whah? Maybe it's time to re-watch a few movies made before 1992...

Well USers can't watch Kenny vs. Spenny on Showcase.com, so big deal!
Also, do you think Bloom might be considered Confidence Man 2? Since he's the younger? Arrested Development reference?

haha totally agree with the 8th post. Luckily the actual movie has some real solid stars so I have a feeling it will all be good in the end. Just cut back a bit on the over-the-top child actors.
