Mar 12 2009Rourke, Johansson Are Russian Half of 'Iron Man'

Mickey Rourke, enjoying new-found popularity after his acclaimed role in The Wrestler, and Scarlett Johansson, still enjoying constant popularity for being really hot, have officially joined the cast of Iron Man 2.

Rourke, who had reportedly been in negotiations for months following Marvel low-balling him with a $250,000 offer, will take on the part of the Russian villain Whiplash, while Johannson will be replacing a previously-engaged Emily Blunt as Soviet spy Black Widow. Plot details are still minimal, but I can only assume these two characters are teaming up to prank Iron Man into believing he's time traveled to the Cold War.

Johansson in black PVC pants.... can't wait

ummm.... wasn't whiplash a woman in the comics?

can't say I'm opposed to ScarJo playing BW… a skin tight suit on her is always a plus

ScarJo replaces Blunt. That feels like downsizing.

That is an awful pic of ScarJo. She really should think about not smiling anymore.

Any word if they will change Black Widow's character to being a free-spirit who is trying to discover her true inner identity...since that's the only role Johansson can play?

she is fun to look at. they need to make fans happy and put her in the black pants that are basically painted on. by the way, killswitch, you noticed her teeth??

Putting ScarJo in anything is a terrible idea. I thought Iron Man was so well casted so it's kind of sad to see it taking this turn.

mickey rourke is back! with a vengance.
also, when did the cold war end? i need to catch up on the news...

Damn it, not ScarJo! Sure, she's nice to look at, but she can't act her way out of a paper bag and she sounds like a man.

Mickey Rourke will be a great addition to the Iron Man crew; he's a really talented actor despite all the other drama he attracts to himself
