Mar 2 2009Judd Apatow's 'Ghostbusters'
Looks like Judd Apatow will be adding Ghostbusters 3 to the sometimes inconsistent line-up of Pineapple Express, Drillbit Taylor, Knocked Up and others. Apatow Productions is officially attached to produce the third G. Busters film:
Judd Apatow's name has been attached the rumors about Ghostbusters 3 since they first began, with all reports saying he would be the producer for the film written by The Office writers Lee Eisenberg and Greg Stupnitsky. Now the production has gotten so close to actually happening that Production Weekly is listing it-- and wouldn't you know, Apatow Productions is right there in charge.
Does this mean the trailers will triumphantly announce that Ghostbusters 3 is "from the guys who brought you The 40-Year-Old Virgin"? Because the far more impressive part is still that it's '"from the guys who were the Ghostbusters--even Bill Murray, I shit you not!" I don't think other claim should attempt to usurp how unbelievable and possibly tragic that is.

I wonder how many of these guys got screwed by Bernie Madoff?
I'm gonna guess that if this ever sees the light of day, Seth Rogan will be playing Ray's (Ackroyd) son.

As long as they don't try to cast Sigourny Weaver in the sexy role again then they can't lose in my opinion.

do you think the jona's brothers will do the cover for the theme song!
do you think they will make it dark and gritty like dark knight!

thats just friggin great. ramis is going to get muscled out on this one. he's made it too thick with the apatow bunch. now the slapstick/deadpan will be replaced with ridiculously painful and awkward situations from eisenberg and stupnitsky. maybe pam will even replace janine melnitz. and then maybe paul rudd will be venkman's son, seth rogen will be the foul mouthed pot smokin son of ray, steve carrell will be the nerdy progeny of spengler and the dude who played jay (and mc hammer at one point) will be winston's wise crakin kid. itll be like 40 year old vigin 2 but with ghosts this time.
so ackroyd has gone off the deep end, murray doesn't want a part of it unless he's a ghost, ernie hudson is tainted from being involved in dragonball evolution, and ramis is giving in to the apatow juggernaut. i almost liked this movie better when ben stiller was going to be venkman's son and they were going to travel to hell...

I'll believe it when I see it. I think I had a perm and braces when I first heard about Ghostbusters 3, so I won't hold my breath.

I mean it kinda makes sense as Ghostbusters was meant for the top comedic talent at the time (with bill murray, harold ramis, and dan ackroyd there were parts meant for john belushi , john candy and eddie murphy). Kinda makes sense with the most consistent comedic group out there.
im not saying its perfect, but its the best shot at a GB3. i loved the previous films, and i cannot say im not interested in another sequel.

Wouldn't Rogen play Ramis' son? You know, since they look basically identical now. Didn't anyone see Knocked Up?
