Mar 26 2009'Gatchaman' Character Poster, of One of the Bird-Person Characters
One of the big reasons I've heard Watchmen didn't perform better at the box office was that people who hadn't read the comic thought the film was confusing and full of silly costumes and unfamiliar characters. I'm just wondering if the people over at Imagi are at all concerned that they're making a film called Gatchaman, based on a '70s anime, starring characters in futuristic bird costumes. I'm fine with it, but you know people.
They've probably come too far to worry about it now, but I would suggest not making one of the characters constantly show his penis.

even more confusing will be those like me who were first introduced to this anime as "Battle of the Planets", which I've come to learn years later had been edited to shreds and "modified" for American audiences.
I have three annoying words for you: SEVEN ZARK SEVEN!

one by one, they're tackling/toppling my childhood favorites. gi joe will most likely disappoint but will i go see it? yeah. stupid transparent cobra commander mask and all (wtf). am still shaking my head at sienna miller as baroness.
now, battle of the planets; i LOVED this anime. it was part of my must-watch after school triumvirate that also included gi joe and voltron (sometimes swapped in thundercats and robotech -- also awesome), and i am hoping that it will be as good or better than what i saw on t.v. will keyop still have that annoying trill in his voice...i hope so. what's next? voltron....i hear it's in the works. pleeeease don't let princess be a whiny milksop, please.
2010 seems so far away.

wasn't there a show like that called G-force? i remember one of them was a fat dude who's bird costume looked like an owl.

Yeah, that would be a good analogy.
If it weren't for the fact that audiences are familiar with this property, since that cartoon was broadcast in the U.S. as Battle of the Planets or G-Force.

@ Photoshop Police.
This is Gatchaman not G-Force or BOP. There is no SEVEN ZARK SEVEN in the Japanese version, thats one of the things that was added in the US version. So I think you have nothing to worry about ^^
Cant wait for this! Will be interesting to see how it all went together.
