Mar 5 2009Deep Space Vacations Always End Poorly
After Paul W.S. Anderson's Event Horizon, you'd think everyone would know to avoid both deep space demons and anything made by the people involved with Resident Evil. Someone should have told Dennis Quaid before he agreed to this:
Yeah, yeah, I've seen Solaris and Sphere and Event Horizon. I know how these deep space creatures fuck with you with both real and imagined horrors. I get it. These movies are all going to look so dated when we finally figure out deep space travel and it turns out it's really uneventful, even leisurely.
(Thanks, Andrew.)

I would really not care about this movie if it wasn't for Ben Foster. I'll probably see it because he's in it.

Agreed, Ben Foster is great. Especially when he's taking a shit on your living room floor hahahaha

I'm calling it - scariest part of the trailer was the card for "From the Producers of the RESIDENT EVIL Films."

Just seen the "Event Horizon" flick for the 3rd time with my gal tonite.
Definitely the best Paul Anderson movie (forget the "WS", the other dude is Paul Thomas, period) - lots of cheap thrills and good Bob Keen effects reminiscent of "Hellraiser" (in the script too - that's why i love it so much).
This one will be Direct To Video in Europe, you can count on that...
And Mr Quaid needs a new agent, by the way.

I don't think it looked bad. It was nothing over the top glorious but it still looks like it could be a fun way to waste some time on the weekend.
Besides, the more films that go into fantasy or scifi settings the better in my book.

@5: They should have said "From the creator of the first Resident Evil film" and my opinion would have gone up.
Quick question. If you lose your memory how would you know about the world you knew and if it was gone?

I think what's more ridiculous is it saying "Don't fear the end of the world." They're on a spaceship. Don't fear the end of the space ship, damnit.

Wow...it didnt look terrible but, like someone else said, wasnt blow-you-away epic either. Movies like this only come around once in a blue moon and the 'sci-fi/space/horror" genre is by far my favorite. I will be first in line to see this.

I bet the twist ending is that some astronaut just had a really bad mushroom trip, and the last line of the film is, "I'm never doing shrooms in space AGAIN!" But you know he will... and they'll make a sequel where he does take shrooms in space again, because of peer pressure
