Mar 10 2009'Anvil! The Story of Anvil' Trailer

I'm guessing every person who has seen any portion of Anvil! The Story of Anvil has already drawn some sort of comparison to This is Spinal Tap, but I can't see any other way to describe this trailer other than "Spinal Tap but real, and therefore uncomfortably tragic." Now watch this trailer:

Two of the guys were even childhood friends, like Nigel and David in Spinal Tap. Can Anvil not sue, lawyers?

What is the last thing the guy mumbles about stoping his cliff jump?

That may be the saddest thing I've ever seen.

About 4 times during the trailer I had to remind myself that it wasn't Spinal Tap.

Especially the shot of them looking wistfully towards Stonehenge.

Ha.....alright there boys, come to any Canadian metal show and see what happens if you call Anvil "sad"...........condolences

"So there's cliffs I can go jump off. That's the easy way."
"Well, th-nuh-no. If you want to jump off a cliff, then I'll stop ya."
"That's dedication, pal."

hmmm thought that was it... thanks Mick!

does anyone else think it might not be a coincidence that one of those guy's names is robb reiner? because rob reiner was in spinal tap.... maybe it's even more of a coincidence than me hearing about a new riddick movie when there's a new riddick movie in the works.

Yahhh Toronto Boys.
Anvil is what struggling for a dream is all about.

I'll probably seek this out.

so is this a real bad or a spinal tap-ish one

saw this at sundance 08 and it was by far the best film i saw. prepare to cry your eyes out. seriously, most impressive doc i've seen in years. the story tells itself. you just have to watch it unfold. and yes robb reiner is in both films. different robb but totally a coincidence, OR IS IT?

... METAL ON METAL!!!

... On second thought, think I'll wait for the Kick-Axe, or Helix movie.

Yes, I have seen this movie too. At times funny, if you didn't know it was true, you might think it was a comedy... at the end, is just saddens you.

Definitely the saddest thing I've ever seen... But, on the bright side, it looked like the Asian fans were still kind of into Anvil at the end of the trailer. Still sad, though.
