Feb 26 2009The Coen Brothers Hate Coal
The coal industry may have billions of dollars, and all of our precious, precious coal, but the anti-coal Reality campaign has one thing they don't: acclaimed filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen directing disinformation-correcting propaganda. This satirical look at "clean coal" technology may not be as dorm room-quotable as a The Big Lebowski, but it is effective enough to make me consider replacing my Dickensian coal stove.

Just what we need more energy policy from hollywood. I wonder what the Coen brothers carbon footprint looks like.

Grown-ups have to face hard realities, like "how do I get electricity for my home?"

Dinosaurs were around for like nearly 200 million years before dying to circumstances outside their control. Humans have been around for around 200 thousand, and we've been ready to exterminate ourselves for a little over sixty years now.
The difference? Dinosaurs didn't use coal for electricity. No power is the secret to longevity.
Learn it.

In reality, video cameras, mixing and editing boards, and television sets aren't powered by fairy dust and good intentions.
Why can't we just pay all the unemployed people to walk on giant hamster wheels, that are tied into generators? Think about it: we could curb the growing problem of obesity, unemployment, and a lack of alternative energy, all in one fell swoop.

I wonder if they've ever been to a place like WV, where coal is the populations livelihood.

@ #4 so do you power your pc with a hamster and a wheel?

if electricity only came from mindless stupidity from the liberal mind. then we would have power to last forever, but until we learn to tap that resource, i say lets burn liberals to power the world.
liberals are so estoopit.

Thank you for illustrating my point. Environmentalists don't want a clean environment and a technologically advanced society. They want a clean environment because there is no technology. They are technophobes who have latched onto the environmental issue as a way to do away with technology.

This sucks. It tickles me that there are dozens of Coen-worshipping commercial directors who could fart out a TV spot better than this.
Just because you can do quirky for 120 minutes, doesn't mean you can do it well for 30 seconds.

That's right, ban coal - America's cheapest electricity producing technology.
Ban diesel engines too while you're at it. And Farms for that matter.
LET THE BASTARDS STARVE TO DEATH IN THE DARK.

You notice it is always the people who can afford anything they want that want to eliminate cheap power. They can pay the high prices for their pet progects.
The rest of the USA rely on this type of power to live.
Typical liberal bullshit. They don't like one thing but do not have an alternative to put in its place.
They just run arround spreading fear and causing trouble while not contributing to a viable solution.
