Feb 9 2009Paying Fugitive Directors to Make Commercials for Fake Products is Art

greed-williams-portman.jpg

Questionable artist Francesco Vezzoli commissioned famed rapist director Roman Polanski to make this 60-second ad for the perfume Greed, which is not a real perfume. Why? Because it's a statement, man. Art. It's like when I ordered all those pizzas for a party that no one was ever going to attend. The statement I was making was "I don't have any friends, so I'm going to eat a shit-ton of pizza."

I'll tell you up front, this non-existent perfume is so hot that Michelle Williams and Natalie Portman have a catfight over it. The lesson is that truly great scents have the power to destroy even the strongest hair-brushing buddy relationship.

Whoa now. Rapist AND pedophile.

Why does everyone pretend that Roman Polanski DIDN'T rape a teenage girl, and then flee the country to avoid being prosecuted?

Seriously, Michele Williams and Natalie Portman have now willfully worked to profit a pedophile rapist who refuses to even stand trial. Well done ladies. You suck.

Bet you he didnt show his sick fuck of a face in america....actresses dont care about anything but their status.....get some compassion

Huh? "shit-ton of pizza" what happened to the cotton headed ninny nuns that complained about bad words? (I feel like I'm talking to my granny...)

For fuck's sake, dude, back off the rapist shit. Even the girl he slept with has been telling prosecutors to go fuck themselves and move on, she sure as hell did.

@7
He didn't "sleep" with her, he fucking drugged her and raped her when she was 13. She would have to move on, naturally, as all rape victims must. So, in conclusion, #7, go fuck yourself.

... by "7" I meant 6... yeah.

so, i've havent looked it up but i thought they had a highly inappropriate relationship prior and was pseudo dating each other? or something about a party and date rape?

i think everyone should be more upset about how LAME the entire thing is.

nice story. I like it.

wow great. I don't get it.

Homo senator foot-taps another adult male in the bathroom - the left wants his head on a pike.

Disgusting old man drugs and buggers a child - the left gives him a pass.

Welcome to the new America.

Re: McFeely Smackup

You're mistaken. Polanski didn't avoid being prosecuted, and he went to prison for his crime (which was statutory rape, btw). He did eventually leave the USA, but it wasn't how you think. For more details, watch the HBO documentary "Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired". (Seriously, if you haven't seen it, you know nothing about the case)
Also, it's an art project. It was not for profit. But even if they worked with him in a regular movie, so what? Samantha Geimer has said many times already that she absolutely doesn't mind people working for him, or him making a living, and that he should be allowed to return to the US without the fear of arrest. She was the victim, so I think her opinion matters more than yours.

Val - you talk about compassion - but for whom? For Mrs. Geimer? She doesn't want it, doesn't need it, she wishes people would stop being obsessed with that story. So compassion for whom?

And Rusty... It was never proven that he'd raped her, or that she was drugged. You may believe what you want of course, but there never was any evidence for that. It doesn't matter however, because he still committed a crime. Oh, and if you're so worried about Mrs.Geimer, why don't you go read an interview with her:
