Feb 20 2009New 'Watchmen' Viral Video Goes MTV-Style
This new video for Watchmen should clear up some things for those wondering if, in a fictional 1985 that imagines a world with actual superheroes and Nixon still in office, Flock of Seagulls remain as a new wave force to be reckoned with. Of course they do:
Obviously the world is going to be on the brink of nuclear war without Kurt Loder delivering these reports.

Nice vid. Check out the article I just wrote up:
Why Watchmen Is Doomed To Disappoint: http://thefilmstage.com/2009/02/20/why-watchmen-is-doomed-to-dissapoint/
Do you guys agree?

These are starting to get a little dull/weak. And those preview clips were underwhelming. *TEAR*

WTF was that? Seems they are running out of steam before the movie is even released! Looks like they are trying too hard to be 'cool.'

I find it mildly funny that Veidt was #1 on his own countdown.
I sort of like the Nostalgia redesign, although it's a bit boring.
In other news: That was a very meh experience. Time to go grocery shopping.

I recently read this graphic novel and it's really awesome, and I truly want to see it captured properly and stay true to the OG story. That being said I'm very happy with what I've seen so far and I think the viral marketing is well done and really cool in that it captures the 80's very well. Also, I'm totally alright with them making nite owl look a lil more badass , i mean he does land silk spectre and he's my fav so suck on that!

Lots of people here are apparently not old enough to remember '80s MTV.
That was spot on.

they should have put this out first...

Yeah, it lost me when she said "the 4-1-1" because growing up in the 80's, that catchphrase never existed then. Trying too hard to be 80's.

I didn't watch MTV as a kid, so I don't recall the VJs being that lame. Were they?

Yes, yes they were.

I don't remember flatscreen tv's in the 80's. I remember them being alot -- bubblier? You'd think with the amount of effort they put into being chonologically accurate they would have noticed that. But other than that, yeah, that's pretty much what any vj show looked like back then.

Eh, that was alright. The animation clips in between were pretty accurate. The tv was definitely a throw off (no flatscreen, hello?). Her outfit, hair and makeup should've been louder, preferably with the too much eyeshadow and a jacket with football-sized shoulder pads. And acid washed denim. I think I prefer the 70s clip better.

That was a bit awesome, just people don't seem to remember the eighties. 411 was most definitely used in the 80s, just because some people didn't use it.... The flat-screen, everyone knows that Doctor Manhattan advanced science. And the shoulder pads? Jenni Jones isn't exactly the power dressing type, is she?

@17
This isn't your 80's, this is an alternate 1980's. They didn't drive electric cars then either but they did in the novel because Dr. Manhattan's advances in technology. It's actually MORE accurate.
