Feb 23 2009Madea's Criminal Activity Does Not Diminish Her Fan Base

No one dared go against the power of Tyler Perry's Thing this weekend, and T.P. made the most of it:

1. Tyler Perry's Mades Goes to Jail - $41.1 million. Just when I thought nothing could make the concept of prison scarier than this, Tyler Perry has to throw his cross-dressing persona in there too.

2. Taken - $11.4 million, thanks to continued word-of-mouth that "Liam Neeson is fucking badass in this thing."

3. Coraline - $11 million. Can we let Henry Selick make more movies yet? He should be the stop-motion Pixar by now.

4. He's Just Not That Into You - $8.5 million. The first couple weeks of this film's success were due to its impressive star power. Now it's just sad ladies without friends hoping for answers on whether or not a guy is into her.

5. Slumdog Millionaire - $8 million. Even when it's safe money, no one wants to bet on a horse they haven't seen running.

Tyler Perry is worse than Osama bin laden.

Mr. Perry - Thanks for another mediocre peace of crap.

It's true! All I have to say to anyone is "ok but what about that scene where Liam Neeson jams those metal rods into the guys knee caps and slowly electrocutes him to death with a light switch?!" And then they say, "yeah ok, I guess that was pretty sweet...."

I've heard that Coraline in 3D is good to watch, but that the movie itself is mediocre at best.

I feel like Madea is a less funny Ernest. I feel like anyone with a VCR would be better off without Tyler Perry if they only knew....

Cinema will soon be divided into two genres, films that ARE Tyler Perry's and the lesser genre of non-Tyler Perry's.

Somebody explain to me why i was in Best Buy the other day and saw Madea Goes to Jail on the shelf? Did he really make two movies with the same damn title, or is it just so bad that it's out on dvd already?

nice posting

Madea goes to jail?

:channeling my inner Ernest:

He asked me why haven't I killed myself yet.

Those Tyler Perry movies only appeal to the dumbest of the population. The trailers are always cringe-inducingly bad. Black comedies are terrible, and they're all the same

Damn it Tyler Perry, just stop. Please. A couple of days ago TBS was running a Tyler Perry's House of Pain marathon. Why?!?!?! I wanted to watch Seinfeld! I hate you Tyler Perry!
