Feb 11 2009'Inglourious Basterds' Teaser Will Beat You with Baseball Bat, Carve Swastika into Your Head
If it were like the '40s and I was enlisting as a Nazi, I would hope, before signing the final paper, someone would show me this video just to get me the fair warning: "Look, being a Nazi, yes, you get the glory of fighting for our führer, and of course there are all the beautiful Aryan girls, but there's also Brad Pitt and these eight other dudes that want to mercilessly torture and kill us, and with Pitt asking for 100 scalps a piece, that's at least 800 of you who are going to be praying for death as Eli Roth beats you with a Louisville Slugger. Just so you know."
Even if one of the guys is the chubby nerd from Freaks and Geeks, I still would not signing up after seeing this. Also the whole violent, racist agenda part would probably turn me off a bit.

also first.

Not bad, not bad at all. I actually like Tarantino's style for some reason and the premise of the movie is pretty decent. I might even consider paying to watch it in theaters.

Better be at least as good as ILSA: SHE WOLF OF THE SS or my faith in Tarantino will wane considerably.

this movie is gonna be pretty hardcore, cause the music tells me so.
i just didnt like the hitler thing at the end. totally came out of nowhere and didnt fit the bill for this trailer.

This kind of contradicts the whole "good nazi" thing that Valkyrie had going... and Das Boot before that.
Also, in earlier post I said Brad Pitt's accent sounded ridiculous, but seen in this larger context... it's still ridiculous. I'm a Tarantino fan, but I'm not sure about this one.

...i'm kinda disappointed
7. Sauron - February 11, 2009 5:14 PM
Don't tell me he woke up this way after an one-night stand.

It looks pretty scary to me.I'm wondering how this movie looks in the back row of the cinema.
9. What? - February 11, 2009 5:41 PM
I thought that first the swastika looked like the Windows symbol...

It better explain why the title is misspelled.

Not for nothing...but this movie looks like it is going to suck

#5 - Agreed. It's either the accent or Brad is really phoning it in, but when he says "And I WANT my scalps!" it's comical in a way that I don't think is intentional.

For being a teaser trailer, looks pretty sweet
15. Jess - February 11, 2009 8:12 PM
I don't understand why people are down on this - I thought it looked phenomenal, and I'm not a QT fangirl. I actually think this is one of the strongest trailers I've seen in a long time. (Granted, there's not been a lot of competition, since 98% of the trailers I've seen as of late are garbage.)
The Hitler part at the end was out of place, yes, but intentionally so.
Also, the blood/text bits were amazingly tight. Great edits, and an eye catching treatment. I'm excited.

Why oh why oh why oh why oh why is Eli Roth in it? Cinema's second biggest tool, and now we have to see him on screen?
17. tyler4all - February 11, 2009 8:34 PM
I second MEH to the maxxxx.
Brad Pitt's accent sounds very silly. he just showed up to get paid.
None of those american soldiers looked intimidating. any of them! sorry, but Ryan from the Office? too soon....
how ignorant to use the terms "nazi" and "german"as if they were interchangeable. not all germans were nazis.
I'll stick to watching "Downfall" again. that's a movie. Tarantino has been going downhill since Reservoir Dogs.
18. sully - February 11, 2009 9:18 PM
@16
he's probably in it because he's fucking QT
19. Count Orlock - February 11, 2009 10:32 PM
Looks amazing.
20. Bobeyo - February 11, 2009 11:28 PM
Quentin Tarantino and Eli Roth suck monkey testicles. I'll never understand what people see in these perverted, sadsistic freaks and their "OMG let's glorify old, overblown cliches with little or no actual creativity of our own, and call it art!" movies...

i'm not a fan of brad pitt. whenever it's unavoidable and i see clips of him in whatever film he's appearing in this month i think he should just ditch trying to be any character other than himself. from now on every forth coming film he's in he should appear in contemporary dress and his character name will be brad. even if he's in a gladiator film he will be known as brad and if need be he can take cell calls. after all, it's brad!
22. mattk - February 12, 2009 1:34 AM
Shut up. It looks good. WTF are your excited to see, f'ing Dragonball suck?
Stop snarky hating alla fukin time, web trolls, that shite gets really old.
23. Berzerker - February 12, 2009 1:35 AM
uh oh, i dont think i have the same respect for tarantino anymore. kinda sad .
24. GW - February 12, 2009 7:42 AM
What the hell was that? that wasn't what we ordered from Tarrantino, i was expecting him to make the most real to life WW2 film ever, not some jumped up version of Saw set in WW2. It looks like just an excuse to go round torturing and mutilating people, why would i wanna watch that?! This is gonna be so crap i doubt i'll even honour it with a free download.
Massively disappointed in both Quentin and Brad.
25. Matt - February 12, 2009 9:34 AM
It looks interesting....too early to tell if its gonna suck or not. Unlike the faggots on here I reserve judgement until I SEE the whole movie...not 30 seconds of it. Yes Brad's accent is annoying...Im sure some of you have really annoying accents too...whats your point? Obviously its for the role...tards.
Who gives a fuck if Eli Roth is in a movie? Does it seriously pain you that much? Are you jealous? STFU already....tards. To the guy who was bitching that they used "nazi" and "german" in the same "context"...who the fuck cares? Ya know Im sure during WWII just about everyone fighting againts Germany was probably calling them NAZI'S! Take your head out of your ass and go back in time to 1942 for a minute....tard.
Anyways...looks cool but who knows. I do like the scene with the guy running down the hallway with the heavy mg firing away...Im really itching to see the that whole scene.
26. Mr. Stratford - February 12, 2009 11:45 AM
I love me some Nazi films, they just make great bad guys. Looks awesome.
27. Sir Goat - February 12, 2009 2:53 PM
Why does Brad Pitt have to be in this?
28. Bob Loblaw - February 12, 2009 4:01 PM
Looks like a DVD rental to me... The type of flick you return late, because it had absolutley no impact, and you forgot that you had even watched it.
29. John - February 12, 2009 5:52 PM
I still don't understand why he insists on misspelling BASTARDS. Huh?? I will probably enjoy watching this and then forget about it two days later, like with the last couple of Tarantino movies. I hope this doesn't end up being some Eli Roth style murderporn. Nazis are so hot right now. Box office gold
30. Right Fury - February 13, 2009 11:29 AM
the guy running down the hall, firing the mg-42 one handed. classic. Expect grindhouse with nazi's and it'll be fine. Expect Band of Brothers and be sorely disappointed.
31. Stretch - February 13, 2009 1:32 PM
Just to tell everyone who have negative things to say about this movie ive had a chance to read the script..though I only got about half way through it actually is a really good story so I dont think from 2 minute preview you should already discard it as shite
32. Minowa - February 15, 2009 2:08 PM
That looks pretty good! Terentino's stlye of this movie also reminds me of Pulp Fiction.
33. Vitor - February 18, 2009 11:02 AM
Yep, it looks like kinda a comedy-action movie and the soldiers arent frieghtning. They look like nerds, but hey thats tarantino`s style, always doing things in a different way. Sounds promising, but still too soon to tell.
