Feb 11 2009Devastator's Face is a Green Nebula
TFW2005 has some leaked shots of Devastator and "The Fallen" from the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen toy line. Devastator's face is PURE ENERGY! I think, at least. Who can tell with these things? I'm only confident that his arm is a crane, which I'm hoping he uses to do moves like Scorpion in Mortal Kombat. Otherwise he's really wasting having construction equipment as appendages.
Here are your sort of spoilers:
This Fallen guy looks a lot like discarded Gort designs mixed with Carnage.

Ah, Devastator! Finally you are realized! I wonder if something is going to be done about that typo with the tank in the last movie.
The "Fallen" almost looks like it could be a Quintesson but, hey, who the heck knows what they're going with this? I surely don't! I will say, though, it's looking to be quite the in depth movie. I just hope we don't have another Spider-Man 3/XMen 3 on our hands (too many characters and a half-assed story). I'm still psyched as all heck for this movie though!
Oh, yeah! Mr. Fallen does look quite badass if I do say so myself!

I hate the pointy-ness of the new Trannyformers.
I'm not watching it.
Anyone got any rubbaz?

So.... Devastator's a Gorilla now? Tiny legs and huge arms... *sigh*
And The Fallen? What, there weren't enough childhood memories to rape, they just had to make up new fugly Protoss-like villains? Goddamnit...
I think I still have a few boyish dreams intact. Isn't there a Hollywood producer out there to remedy this? Come on now, I'm still waiting for my present day Zelda game where the hero, Zelda, wields his trusted Master Sword sniper rifle to fend off the hordes of Ganondorf, the bearded stereotypical extremist mastermind.

Tabiuo20 - Before talking like a fanboy crybaby wuss, time to man up, read some goddam SCOTT PILGRIM, and realize Fallen was a canon character from the extended Marvel (I think European) comics run. So take that ice cold with hollandaise sauce.

@7
Well, lets first point out that Devastator is angled in a way where he's diving at you so his "tiny legs" may just all be in your head. Actually, you might just be wanting to hate it. By your Zelda statement you are saying that the Transformers movie has completely strayed off its path. Last time I checked, the Construticons/Devastator were the combined efforts of Transforming Decepticons who are all made up of Construction vehichles... hmm... wait a minute... SO IS THIS GUY! Wow! Thats odd... how could he be straying-oh! Is it because he isn't a mixture of the Green-yellow and purple? Because everyone knows thats the standard color of ALL construction vehichles. What? It isn't? That was just the color scheme for the show/toys because it was cheaper that way? Soooo you're saying Transformers should be a cheap cut and paste movie? No, that can't be it.
So tell me: How has Transformers (live action), a movie about the Autobots and Decepticons warring over Cybertron who have ended up on earth just to continue the war there, stray from Transformers (80's animated), a show about the Autobots and Decapticons warring over Cybertron who ended up on earth just to continue the war there?
Oh and I'll rebuttal a couple of your possible reasons right now to save time too:
1) "Too focussed on the humans. Its called TRANSFORMERS! They should be the main characters!" That is correct.. Hopefully that will happen with this upcoming movie too (which Bay pretty much said will happen) but remember, Michael Bay didn't want JUST us, the (so-called)fans of the show, he wanted people new to Transformers so he had to have humans take the lead for it would be a comfortable/neutral territory for everyone. We get giant robots beating the heck out of each other and they get the Humans to move the plot along. Now everyone should be used to the Cybertronians so this problem should be fixed. (this point is starting to make me sound like a broken record)
2) "Fallen?! New character? Blasphemy!" Okay, really? Childish. First of all, we've no clue is this IS a new character. Surprisingly, Bay has actually been doing some research. I mean who would've thought he would use the allspark? He's being alot more canon then you may think. If it is a new character, why not? The Transformers cartoon was (in the later half) was nothing but random new characters and twists and whatnot and all just to sell a new toy. This fallen guy looks to me a good toy.
Those are really the only complaints I can see really being the most valid so I'd love to hear yours. Just because the movie hasn't been a complete replica of the show, all the way down to the shameful recycled transformation sequences, that you know and love doesn't mean it's strayed off the path becoming something completely different. Go cry more and go watch that new "Transformers Animated" show becuase you probably think that garbage is godly.

@7 I'd just like to point out that the fallen isn't a new character. So you needn't start crying that Michael Bay raped your childhood. The Fallen was in the old dreamwave comics.
11. Herner_Warzhog - February 11, 2009 10:00 PM
No part of me thinks that those trying to eviscerate poster 7 aren't paid cronies, why ? Because anyone with an ounce of intelligence could see that transformers 1 was shit, because there was no plot to be moved along, because the all spark was fucking retarded and mainly because, whisper this part because it causes some to combust, the action wasn't good, thats right unclear closeups of action work with real people in Bourne, not 20 foot tall robots made of computer graphics.
Bays a hack, at least the original series had heart, these new films have fuck all characterisation of anyone and robots which look absolutely terrible. Stray away from g1 all you like but if you present the shit like they have then expect to get called for it,
12. ed - February 11, 2009 10:04 PM
i think the fallen is the new megatron(possibly galvatron old school cartoon movie style), looks exactly like the face on the transformers movie site...
13. theLordMangus - February 11, 2009 10:32 PM
This shit is so gay. I mean, ya Devastator is sposed to be a the combination of a bunch of construction vehicles, but im just not feelin the energy face thing. I wish they woulda stuck a lil moreso with the original look and feel of these characters. So much inconcistancy it just seems like the sequal is gonna be a bunch of outlandish ideas thrown together with a ton of un necessary side plots much like the 1st steaming pile of shit.
14. Tom - February 11, 2009 11:53 PM
Apparently #11 is Uwe Boll and thinks that Speilberg and Bay has goons all over the net to defend their movies.
Also, there must be alot of dumb people running around because Transformers 1 did make quite a sum in the box office that summer of 2007 and Uwe DID say that if you liked it then your intelligence was low.
I assume when you say the Allspark is retarded that you aren't saying it was made up for the movie because, it's canon. The action, I'll admit was too blurry. Batman Begins was too blurry as well but a bad movie it doesn't make. Just something you would hope is fixed for the next movie.
I love G1 but I can't agree that it had heart while keeping a straight face. It had the intentions of selling toys! Nothing else. Eventually it evolved an in depth story but that's actually whats in these movies. Lets all do some research before spitting crap on the walls. I do refer to myself as well because I should've researched "The Fallen" before saying anything about him... who I just found is a real character.
You know what? Nevermind. These are all opinions anyways. I'll just keep to mine and let you people keep to yours. I think the movie will be awesome but that's just me but I do believe alot more people will think think the same but we'll have to see for that.
Sorry for calling you Uwe Boll, Herner_Warzhog, that I really do take back. No one is deserves to be called that.

The first movie was a steaming pile, but I'm not particularlly worried about this one... http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Ruined_FOREVER

Not digging Devestator too much (Pretty sure it's just the face). I'm sure just the size of him should be impressive on screen next to any other Transformers.
The two things I like about the look of The Fallen are....
1) He looks pretty evil which is a good thing.
2) I like that he resembles the Quintessen, which makes sense since he's one of the original 13.
I'm a huge fan of the G1 cartoon and toys, still collecting as well (The Universe Classics line is what the toys should have been all along even if they aren't as good quality). Used to read the comics back in the late 80's to early 90's and always watched the cartoons. That being said I enjoyed the 1st movie. No, it wasn't perfect and I could pick at it all day if I wanted to. Instead I decided to enjoy it for what it was. Seeing someones idea as to what real life Transoformrs would look like. I think they keep to the cannon enough that us fans can watch the movie and that new people can jump in and start with the movie and then work backwards from there if they want to.
When I was a kid and Superman the movie came out in the late 70's that was the first time I ever saw Superman but I'm sure there were plenty of people not too happy with that movie after reading the comics for years. Now I'm a huge DC fan and have thousands of comics and I could easily go back and pick apart that movie as well but why would I do that. The movie was missing so much and the main villain had been turned into an evil, funny looking, wig wearing realestate broker .That's how these things work. They are meant to appease both old fans and new fans alike so there are going to be some compromises toi make everyone as happy as possible and to keep up with the times as well.
If your bothered so much by the fact they aren't sticking to cannon perfectly then why even bother watching because you knew as soon as you heard there was going to be a live action TF movie that it was not going to be perfect. Did you really want an 80's movie where nothing is in context with the way life is righ now.
The only thing I personally would have enjoyed would have been more Transformers and less people but again I understand that for people that don't know the Transformers like us fans do you do need some real people in there to help the new comers relate and be pulled into the story.

@11 Well it seems that if been found out. Damn you and your investigative skills you’ve easily seen through my point that Michael Bay was clearly making up stuff in order to ruin Transformers forever. I’m just thankful that he pays me to thousands of Euros defend his movies in the interweb, considering the way the economy is going.
18. Did nobody catch that? - February 12, 2009 1:01 PM
#7 called the hero of the Zelda games Zelda....I'm pretty sure, and don't quote me on this, that he's been named LINK since game one. Haha so if you're going to bitch, and this is the internet, then at least pick a game you've played. Oh, and don't let the Geekologie writer know what you did Tabion20 or it's on like Donkey Kong (a game where the character's name IS in the title).
19. ramon - February 12, 2009 9:11 PM
devastator's face looks like ultron's.
20. Tabion20 - February 13, 2009 8:20 AM
#18: Yes, I know that his name is Link. I was making an example of how Hollywood can screw up our boyish dreams by half-assing their research and making the same movies over and over again, just changing a paragraph of script here and there and by using different CG. Since Bay's butchered the Transformers, I was illustrating what an equally butchered Zelda movie would look like.
And I can see that devastator is seen at an angle, like he's rushing for me. But his arm still touches the ground. It's at the same level as his legs. Which species of animal has it's arms to the ground when they run? GORILLAS, that's who. Also, Tranformers Animated, being based squarely on the movie and having the animation budget of... Well, let's get serious, this is barely animated at all. It's a load of crap. But, since it's based off of a load of crap, I'm not overly surprised.
Lastly, yes, those who ripped hard into me are Bay's goons. It's a well known fact that there are people who maintain around 20 online personas to virally promote movies, games and other products, all while working out of an office cubicle. I mean, to not know that, you need to have slept through the last 10 years. So, either you guys are employees (Hell, you could all be the same guy for all I know, ip doesn't prove anything anymore) or you're doing it out of the goodness of your heart but you are the very definition of online goons.
21. Tom - February 13, 2009 4:16 PM
Online Goons. Sounds like a great sitcom idea.
Geez, we sound dumb. I'm not here for any witty rebuttal. Just look over all of these posts. Look at what other people have put and look at what you put down. The internet has the ability to reduce everyones age to 10-13 (and if you are that age... a more annoying version) and, to not know that, you need to have slept through... well, the whole existence of internet!
I really don't care who's right or who's wrong anymore because 1) It's a movie 2) Because it's a movie there is no right or wrong 3) Because there is no right or wrong that means it's only a matter of opinion.
As I said, I like it. If you don't like it, okay. You don't like it. I don't care anymore. What I don't like is just because I defended something I liked I am called stupid and/or paid to praise/protect it. I am not a goon and I am not stupid. I'm no genius but I'm not stupid.
One more thing. Transformers Animated is not based off of the movie. They take some ideas and visual themes from the movie to try and trick people into watching but it's nowhere near following the movie. Seriously, watch an episode. After watching just one you might just have a little more appreciation for the movie.
