I also find that stupid "cool" comment irritating as hell everytime I see it. How could any director be on a set and think, "you know what, that was a really good take, it captured the moment perfectly". what a failure of a film.

It really doesn't matter if this film blows because we already got a dragonball movie made by the people who created the series. Thirteen of them in fact, that ran the gauntlet from freakin' awsome to terrible. So none of us have any right to complain that it isn't what we were hoping for.

They're doing something new with the license and if they can bring the franchise to a wider audience all power to them. Admittedly, alot of what i have seen of Evolution (really is a bad name btw) so far has made my inner child want to deep-throat a lightsaber, but I'm still going to give it a chance, Because all we've seen of it so far is some very brief teaser trailers.

And then if it sucks I'll be back to tear it a superfulous new one.

God this is a disappointment. I wish that I could NOT watch this movie, but I'm a glutton for pain when it comes to bad movies. I have to see it, which pains me more than anything.

whoever read the manga knows that goku went on a trip with Bulma before so what if this movie is a gap inbetween Goku's teen years and his adult hood, like if he faced Picolloa first time before Goku actually faces him and turns him good? You know what i mean?

Well. When i saw the link i thought that this movie might be awesome. But then i watched the trailer. A part of me just died. I loved the anime when i was growing up, and this is just aother pathetic hollywood attempt on getting rich off of something that was cool.

Geez laweez, I came here wanting to see a trailer for this movie (which will most likely be crap...the good kind of crap mind you) which I nonetheless want to go see just because I used to really like DBZ.

Instead, I found a bunch of completely self-righteous people who seemed to have gotten unreasonably butthurt over one, read ONE adaptation of the Dragonball franchise. Honestly, the Super Mario Bros. movie did not ruin the entire Mario franchise, so why will a single bad movie adaptation of an already overrated anime ruin the entire franchise?

To be quite honest I find it exceedingly amusing how all of you are acting like it's the end of the world because of this movie. Being primarily a fan of western sci-fi/fantasy, when I see anime fans hating on anything involving their favorite series that happens to be not Japanese it really makes me laugh...so America suddenly = evil? What can I say that hasn't already been said? This movie, compaired to the manga or anime, is poop. I think maybe if I knew nothing about the manga or anime, then I might be able to pay and sit through this load of crap. It's just like the Queen of the Damned movie. It's the same I heard about Fallout 3. If they wanted to do a standalone movie, they could have called it "dragon wishes" or something. If they call it "Dragon Ball", and then it has nothing in common in story, style or general setting with the original, then they're just ripping off the people who will go to see it because it's called "Dragon Ball".

What the... I enjoyed DB as it never took itself seriously, sort of like a Jackie Chan movie, with a bit of smash for good measure.
But this looks like it's a serious attempt at a 'hardcore action' movie, which is like stabbing a dragon ball fan in the eye. I liken it to someone making a Teletubbies flick sporting hardcore porn.

Transformers was passable, perhaps (but maybe more so due to the Fox eye candy...), but this bothers me somewhat. Guess I can only hope.
