Feb 23 2009A Few Seconds of a Bunch of Upcoming Movies

If you made it to the end of the Oscars--or more likely, if you dozed off and were awakened by the credit sequence's jamming guitar--the night's reward was a three-minute movie preview sequence. For some of the films (Public Enemies, Whatever Works), it was a first look at scenes from highly-anticipated projects. For others (Old Dogs!), it was the warning: oh god, Robin Williams and John Travolta made some kind of boot camp comedy, and it's called Old Dogs. Here it is:

Always end on a high point--like with talking guinea pigs spies.

two movies with amelia airheart in one year?? what's the occasion?

Eric Bana getting licked in the ear was the funniest thing I saw that whole broadcast, ftr.

soooo....I guess the Star Trek movie ISN'T coming out this year after all (?)

PS Paramount SUUUUUUUUCCCCKS!

PPS - Warner Brothers - you're still a-holes for delaying HP til frakkin forever!

PPPS - Meanwhile all the crap in that lame clip is coming out. Atheists, THERE'S you're proof there is no God. No wait, I take that back; nothing as annoying as all this could happen without divine intervention. There IS a God... and he f-ing hates you!

Public Enemies is gonna kick ass
wait Downey Jr is Sherlock Holmes??

Could somebody please tell me the name of the band that is doing this version of pillbox hat playing during the trailer montage.

Thank you.

@5 I think it's Beck...?

But thanks #5. Now I don't have to be.

Robert Downey Jr, Christian Bale, Seth Rogan, and Robin Williams are all in 2 of those previews, but Travolta? He get's that much work?

so that last movie... whose brilliant idea was it to bring back those annoying rat/gerbil/chinchillas from those Blockbuster commercials back in the day and make it into a feature length movie 10 years later?

Elmo

Thank you.

It is indeed Beck - from the new War Child - Heroes charity compilation - contemporary artists covering classic tracks. Some good stuff on it, like TV On the Radio's take on Bowie's "Heroes", and some not so good. Still don't know about Peaches' cover of the Stooges, although that should have win written all over it.
