Jan 30 2009Rambo Will Return Again... Somewhere
When Sylvester Stallone stumbled back from wherever he wandered to after leaving the set of Spy Kids 3-D and jumped right back into the roles of Rocky and Rambo, I thought it was understood that it was his swan song--a chance for him to say goodbye to his most famous characters before his neck veins overtook his vocal function. That was the agreement, Sly. So what's this I'm hearing about Rambo coming back again?
Sylvester Stallone, who is preparing to shoot action-adventure The Expendables, told Extra that he's planning to play John Rambo again."Yeah, we are doing another 'Rambo,' but the conflict is whether to do it in America or a foreign country," said Stallone.
At least this project will keep him from trying to do Further Over the Top or Stop! Or My Dad Will Shoot This Time.

Yikes. Too Over the Top. That's a scary thought, the original was enough. Never has a movie lived up to its name less than Over the Top. That movie was squarely within acceptable range of being way below the top. You could actually chunk it into a blender with Crank and Shoot 'Em Up and it still wouldn't even spill over a little bit.

woah woah woah.... the conflict is whether to shoot it in america or a foreign country? THATS the conflict? really? it's not whether Stallone is too old or not? Or that perhaps Rambo should be dead? It's where the movie will take place? ok... i guess I can accept that

Rambo 5 was actually pretty decent. I could believe he was way too old to be involved in some war. I am dying to see The Expendables just because it sounds like some fantastic 80's movie.

If he wants to resurrect an action franchise, he should be phoning up Wesley Snipes for another Demolition Man.

Have you guys SEEN the latest rambo? That thing was an action masterpiece. I was a serious doubter until I saw it in my local theater in DLP. Holy hell that movie destroyed. Best damn editing, visual effects, and realistic depictions of destruction and war I have seen since saving private ryan. For action purists, this movie is gold. The story wasn't that half bad either, to be honest.
If you haven't seen it, go see the newest rambo. Then realize he acted in it. And directed it. And he's over 60 years old. Frankly, if they get the same crew/team to do the movie, I'm all for it. That shit rocked my face off.

sucka, what about the part where you think everyone is going to die, and then Rambo slowly rises behind the machine gunner? Epic. Another Rambo is going to rock because Sly for some reason can actually write.

@5 -- how hard is it for you to figure out? Snipes is IN JAIL! for a while... tax evasion
9. STINK - January 31, 2009 1:09 PM
@8 -- I thought Snipes was forced to do Bowflex commercials now, which is worse than prison.

Oh, they could work something out.

I liked the recent Rambo alright. I like when he starts shooting arrows. Maybe a little hokey though. I always thought First Blood was a pretty good quality flick.
@ 1 - You aren't Nick HOGAN, are you? How about that "No Holds Barred"? Whens the collectors edition quadruple DVD coming out on that? cuz I means to buy it. I am not being sarcastic. Of course, I don't think it took itself as seriously as Over The Top. DOOO-KIEEE!
