Jan 7 2009'Objectified' Trailer is Sleek Yet Functional
How timely (if you're me). I just watched Helvetica again on PBS last night, and now here's a trailer to the director's next effort, Objectified-- a documentary on industrial design things, such as a CD player you can mount on your wall. Pseudo-industrial design aficionados like me, who think owning some Apple products and taking and a trip to the MoMA store make an expert, are going to be even more obnoxious after this comes out. I'm already describing this trailer as "very Eames-inspired":

I like the super market checkout techno near the end. Makes me want to go to Ikea for the day.

Looks very good, taking a look into the designers life instead of what the consumer thinks. Can't wait!

LOL, "Eames inspired" :-D
Yes, Helvitca was great, that's the first time I'd seen it!
I can't wait to see this next film. Industrial design is a fascinating subject especially historically, and most people don't give it a thought. And as an artist and IBM employee, I was thankful to Apple for bringing some color into the squared-cornered, bandaid-biege-colored world of PCs.

The description for this was awesome. Kudos.
It made me chuckle in that haughty way that is reserved for individuals who publicly favor Gehry (but secretly prefer the architects who designed Rainforest Café. The trees! They look so real!!)

The beginning is totally Eames-inspired. I took two design classes and have also been to the MOMA store, so I'm practically a design professor or something.
