Jan 21 2009'Arrested Development' Movie News! Almost!
Michael Cera has finally spilled the beans on the Arrested Development movie! Speaking to MTV, the actor revealed... he hasn't seen a script, think it's “more hypothetical than people think,” and seems pretty annoyed that he keeps getting pestered about it, which is not at all the positive response I was hoping for. Someone needs to try asking him again. He just needs to be reminded that everyone really likes the series and reassured that "you're probably sick of this question" a few more times.

Why is he so against this movie. This show made him a star basically and its not like he's gone on to greener pastures Character wise. He basically plays the same awkward teen type kid in EVERYTHING he does and he doesn't seem to be slowing down on that front. The only other type of character he could play is serial killer. But a still very awkward serial killer.

Meh. He plays disinterested like this, he holds up production, finally the producers write him a much bigger check than he deserves just to get him on board for 15 minutes of screen time.
"I can't wait to do the movie" gets him a salary of $100,000 or so.
"I don't want to do the movie" gets him a million or so.

Jimmy Jim, that's by far one of the creepiest comments I've ever read on this website, and that is saying a lot. Please nut-tuck and dance to "Goodbye Horses" while posting if you want to up the creepy level from that.
With that being said, this kid needs to quit douching around and give us what we want. It's not like an AD movie would require an intense shoot that would soak up a huge block of his schedule.

Does Mitch Hurwitz even have a script in place? In the DVD commentary, on the last episode, he tells the cast he has a GREAT IDEA for the movie. But maybe it was total bullshit.
Either way, this movie needs to be made. Then perform poorly at the box office. Then sell well on DVD.

You know, I really hope you guys realize that all the "What an ass! I guess you're too busy being a successful actor." comments are exactly what he's talking about.
So the story so far is that movie blogs says an AD movies is in the works based on the evidence that it'd be "pretty sweet," and to make the story more interesting, they assume that Cera must be holding out for more money solely because he's the most successful person in the group and therefore must be the problem.
Gee I can't imagine why in the world that would bother him.
