Here's the trailer for Tyler Perry's Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail, continuing the Perry tradition of layering a crazy old fat lady--played by himself in drag and a fat suit--with over-the-top melodrama. Why does he think this works? It looks like Tyler Perry's equivalent of Ernest Goes to Jail edited into a Lifetime movie. The trailer also features a daring split-screen with Madea and T.P., an all-grown-up Rudy from Cosby Show, and a Dr. Phil cameo? Even Mike Myers and Seltzer & Friedberg are hesitant to summon him. Here you go:

I wonder if the Madea-irrationally-destroying-an-expensive-car part is prior to her going to jail or if that's the "here we go again!" moment.

i will neither see this trailer nor watch the actual film. could the plot be any less tempting or inviting? wait, no, there is no plot.

i'm going to vomit

you laugh, but this shit will make $100mill at the box office. Black folks love watching men dress up as old women, for some reason...

Screw this: Who won the contest?

"Why does he think this works?"

Doesn't his movies take in truckloads upon truckloads of cash? Something must be working, surely?

wait...this is all the same movie? this is a mashup of two different trailers, right? right?

Touching.

Excuse me? Black folks love watching men dress up as old women, for some reason....whatever, man. I admit this film will make money, regardless if you see it or not...and Jaime, it seems as though your interest is there since you've had enough time to comment or is it another fan in denial.

Go one with your bad self. Make that money fool!
