Dec 2 2008UPDATED: That's That for Batman (in Theaters)

dark-knight-final-trailer.jpg

I hope you got your watching Batman on a giant screen out of the way this summer: Warner Bros. has dropped plans for its January rerelease of The Dark Knight in IMAX theaters. Worse yet for people who care a bizarre amount about box office profits, the film has earned $996.1 million worldwide, so it looks like, without the rerelease, its gross is going to fall just shy of a billion dollars. Unless their Dark Knight candy drive is incredibly successful.

UPDATE: Never mind. It's still happening. (Thanks, ed)

well I'm going to see a Begins/Dark Knight Double Bill on Friday night so I'll have to get my last big screen Batman fix then.

There goes my second use of my Halloween costume. Screw you WB! First Harry Potter delay, now this! stop fucking with my emotions!!

I still haven't seen it. I will buy the blu-ray next Tuesday. And like they stop counting their money once it's out of theaters...DVD, rentals, VOD etc....lots of cash to make yet.

its in IMAX over here in the UK rite now if u wanna see it desperately on the really big screen. i went about two weeks ago. it was amazing.

The article has been updated. Looks like the plans are back on. looking forward to seeing it again!

I thought it would be odd for them to bring it back anyhow. Not that I would mind seeing it a hundred more times. I'm a huge dork.

By the title of this post, I seriously thought there was some definitive information out there stating there wouldn't be a third Bale/Nolan movie. I just about had a heart attack.

i did not get to see this movie in IMAX..soo, this is good news.

NO! It should have never left Imax.. bastards! dickwads! pissants! now I have nothing to watch with the little kid relatives (I get stuck with every year) except Hotel For Dogs *shoots self*

I'm glad it's still coming back, for a moment I was afraid they caved to those crazy bastards in Batman, Turkey.
