Dec 5 2008'Friday the 13th' Trailer

friday-13th-trailer-final.jpg

A few 28-year-olds playing high school kids, seemingly without any sort of script besides the instruction to "just sort of hang out, then run and scream if someone is chasing you with a weapon," is basically what I expected from a Friday the 13th remake (and most every horror movie), but I'm glad the writer of this at least had the good sense to make Jason at one point drive a boat around killing people. Hacking someone up with a machete is good and all, but I think we can all agree that sometimes you should get in a boat and hit some swimmers just to assure everyone that you're an indiscriminate madman, not some kind of machete fetishist.

(Thanks, Kyle.)

I don't know how the movie is going to turn out, but I am pysched that they paid homage to the original trailer with the counting up to 13.

i remember watching all of these movies in theaters with my younger brothers. we enjoyed all of them, even the cheesiest ones. looking forward to this one.

How come they always put a single black guy in a group of white friends. I have hundreds of friends and none of them have a token black friend. It's just Hollywood acting like blacks and whites hang out together.

It looks like they're making some last minute changes.... if this new poster is any indication this might turn out to be good after all.

Well I guess they kinda get rid of the idea that most anyone will survive with this, the trailer's just missing the horror movie "money shots", ha.

you know i always thought that too, until i just met my white boyfriend's token black friend. i agree though, usually the races divide and hang out with each other, but there is the occasional one who goes against the grain.

Man nothing beats the end of the original Friday the 13th. Freaking awesome. You think everything is ok, police are there, sunny morning, then Jason rips out of the water and freaking drags her down. AMAZING! But i guess that won't be in this one. Considering in the original it is his mother that kills everyone.

I read somewhere that this movie will combine elements of the first 2 movies... I think I read that somewhere. Maybe I made it up...

It actually doesn't look terrible.

sam winchester? what're you doing here?!

Please tell me there will be a running total of the body count - that's what we always needed - I always lost track. Maybe they could hand out those hand ticker things, you could compare your total to your firends and then have animated discussions about how the couple that got speared together count as one instead of two.

Ewww - boat propeller fu - that's gonna leave a mark!

I think this will be good. hope so, but its a Bay film so something has to blow up.

Wouldn't it kick ass if Jason killed everyone and he's standing there all just breathing like YESSSSS and out of nowhere Megatron squashes him then says something like, "AHHHH SHIT" and scrapes his foot all on a rock.

Fuck it, I am moving to Hollywood bitchez!!

Surprised about this and I think it actually looks pretty good. I'll be in line :)

We're down to remakes of Friday the 13th. I mean....Really! This is how desperate Hollywood has become. They can't even come up with a new psycho killer of their own. I was a big fan of the Friday the 13th franchise when I was a kid in the 1980s, but I also smoked a lot of dope and didn't want to think too much. They should have remade the TV series, at least it had a plot, and the super-hot-for-Canada Robey. And technically, Jason didn't show up till the second movie. So, this is a remake of Friday the 13th 2. Man I miss Robey. Canadians are much scarier than Jason.
