Nov 10 2008'Star Trek' Posters Get Artsy
Continuing the campaign of marketing Star Trek with primarily dramatic headshots, Paramount has released two new posters. This one is the stone face of Spock. You can guess what the other one is.
Why can't we get any classic painted Star Trek posters anymore, like the one for Wrath of Khan? That was the kind of poster you wanted to hang on your wall, then hide if you thought you might have a girl over.

Spock's all "come up to this poster and kiss me" and Kirk's head reminds me of that huge space puppet Balock from the original series.

Dang. I was hoping to see Simon Pegg's tastefully-shot big round head, but I was wrong.
WHY do they keep releasing promo shots with that bland-ass no-name Kirk? At least with Spock, he is instantly recognizable. If I saw that Kirk poster hanging on the street, I would never guess in a million years who the hell he was. They should at least stick a goddamn Tribble in his hand or something.

good movie posters aren't made any more for the same reason disney basically shut down their animation studios and went the CG route. Oh and Wrath of Khan was kick ass and this movie will be a homoerotic tragedy. I think Im going to go cry into a bowl of popcorn and watch TNG episodes for a week to make my self feel better. poor Gene Roddenberry
