Nov 4 2008May the 'Fanboys' Trailer be with You (Remember That, from 'Star Wars'?)
After years of delays, it looks like Fanboys, the story of a group of kids breaking into the Skywalker Ranch to give their friend a screening of The Phantom Menace before he dies of cancer, might finally be released. Last week, a new poster turned up, and now there's a trailer, with an ostensible release date and everything. It basically looks like a Road Trip, except what that film lacked in Star Wars references, Fanboys makes up for in... uh... Star Wars references.
Did YOU catch the allusion to Star Wars?

I thought Carrie Fisher always had a mandate that no one refer to her as Princess Leia in promotional material. I wonder if that'll be an issue.
Ambivalent about seeing this. Great line-up, but 3 year delay and mediocre jokes may make this a DVD rental.

why is it that not satisfied with milking the trilogy to death filmmakers now have to resort to spoofing it to death. man i'm getting so sick of these fuckign star wars jokes. As Alec Guinness once told a fan "Do yourself a favour and stop watching those terrible movies"...only i'd say parodying instead.

Unfortunately, I can't see this because I refuse to adimt that episode 1 exists. 1 and 2 are so bad, that I put them in league with the films of Uwe Bol and the Highlander the Source. It looks moderately funny, but how dissapointed are the characters going to be when they actually see the movie?
