Nov 14 2008'Kick-Ass' Still Looks Accurate

kick-ass-prod-shot-1.jpg

Newsarama has posted the first official stills from Kick-Ass, Matthew Vaughn's adaptation of the Mark Millar/John Romita Jr. comic. I am in shock that the hero's costume looks as faithful as it does. It's supposed to be made by a teenager, and so it looks like it might be made by a teenager. Astounding. Did the costume designer not get the memo that costumes are meant to be overly elaborate and made of painted rubber, black leather, or scale-patterned cloth? How can you sell action figures of this? And now you're going to have to find a new way to infuriate fanboys. What a failure.

Close-up below the cut.

looking great

Sorry, I was just excited about this flick.

So what's new with you guys?

Oh just wait...this will probably be the costume for the first 20 minutes, then he'll get something stupid.

That suit won't sell action figures.

I've read up about this comic character.... and honestly.... its about the lamest sounding thing I've ever heard.

I'm willing to bet it'll suck ass not kick it...

This costume has no nipples.
FAiL.

I've been reading the comics since they came out I have to say... they kick ass. Pick them up if you can.

I don't like the mouth opening.

In Kick-Ass #1 (only one I have read so far) there was no mouth opening, just the eyes.

I have no problem with people making movies from comics, but what gets on my nerves is they should at least let the series finish. Thanks alot for @$#%^&*% up the rest of the series for everyone.

These stills make this movie look like a bust. I'm only into the comic for the gore. And these stills have no gore. CG blood is lame. I need it by the bucketload. This looks PG-13 at most. I NEED R.
