Nov 12 2008Jeffrey Tambor Taunting Us With 'Arrested Development' Movie News

arrested-development-movie.jpg

I know, I know. An Arrested Development movie is the pony your dad has promised you year and year but never delivered. Every time a former cast member is interviewed, they give the typical "I'd love to do it, and creator Mitch Hurwitz wants to do it" response, and everyone gets excited--we're getting a pony!--yet the garage remains stuffed with sporting equipment. So this interview with Jeffrey Tambor, where he says he'd like to do it, probably isn't that big of a deal. Except that he says they are doing it!

When Collider cleverly inquired if it was happening by asking if he was sick of people asking, Tambor said this:

Well, no, because we're doing it. We are going. It's a go. Yeah. I just actually this week talked to Mitch Hurwitz, so we're doing it.

And that there's no script, but:

When the writer calls you, and the director, and the executive producer call you, it's a pretty good sign.

Tambor also said to get our hopes up, so time to get your hopes up. I'm holding off until I hear some ukulele strumming.

(Thanks, Colm.)

Oh. My. Goodness.

YEAH BABY YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

This isn't just a pony...this is a unicorn. Can this be real?!

A friend of mine mentioned this at dinner last night, I thought he was a loon. But here it is again. After a terribly short third season I've been dying for the movie. Hopefully this isn't a psyche out! Let's go Gob!

YAY!!! Everyone's getting a pony!!!

Yay!!!

THanks for the good news!

I was wondering about this like an hour ago. I swear to god. If anyone hasn't seen this show every single episode is available in HD at hulu.com.

Pennies from heaven!

This party is going to be off the hook!

If this is true, I will cram your sweet pink mouth with so much ice cream that you'll be the envy of every Jerry and Jane on the block.

This news is so exciting!!! ...and with a smack of ham to it!

Frack this. The series was perfect because it ended after three seasons. Everyone loves it because the writing didn't suck. However, I promise all you excited fans out there the second this movie comes out and underwhelms you'll be the first with burning effigies of Hurwitz.
I hope they never come out with a movie. However, Hollywood envisions this as a blockbuster so they shant be able to resist.

Eeeeeee! And yesterday I learned that HBO greenlit production on Game of Thrones. Best damn week ever!

Adr, if the show ended when Mitch really wanted it to end then I'd agree with you, but it was cancelled. I trust Mitch and co to have a solid story and script before going ahead with the project.

The same thing happened with Firefly. I'm a huge fan, and I'll admit I was a little nervous about Serenity, but aside from a few minor complaints, I really like the movie.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY :D

I'm having some hot ham water tonight, to celebrate!

I am going to kill someone with a cheese grater if this proves to be nothing but wishful thinking.
