Nov 7 2008'Bolt' Trailer Fails to Raise the Amazing Dog Bar

Disney has released a new trailer for Bolt, the Homeward Bound-esque story of the dog star of an action series who must find his way home after coming to the terms with the somber reality that he possesses none of the powers of his on-screen alter ego. I'm curious how this will play in a post-Air Bud world, an existence where children have been exposed to a dog that actually has amazing abilities. I know if I were a kid, I would be super pissed that Bolt probably can't even play that great of a game of baseball, whereas Air Bud is adept at every sport, and has solved several serious crimes. Bolt simply does not measure up to the current standard of awesome dogs.

First MAybe gotta love that hamster or whatever it is!

Is it just me, or has the Uncanny Valley been flooded recently???

That hamster is going to be the star of the show. Hopefully Miley Cyrus dies...it would make for a happy ending and teach the kids a valuable life lesson at the same time. Just a thought.

You're right, I think that damn hamster is gonna steal the show.

They should have made the movie about the hamster. Also do the pigeons remind anyone of the Goodfeathers from Animaniacs or is it just me.

Count me in with kids. I was disappointed that the dog doesn't actually have super-powers. Personally, I would have vastly preferred seeing a movie based on the show they're filming.

I liked it better when it was called Toy Story.

The pitch: "Okay, you know how the astronaut in Toy Story thought he was real? What if... and get ready for this... he was a dog who thought he was a superhero? We'll throw in the Goodfeathers, a sarcastic cat who does a Han Solo at the end, a guess spot by Hannah Montana for word of mouth, and a fat, funny hamster in a hamster ball. It's comedy genius!"

If that isn't within 80% of the actual pitch I'll slam my dick in a drawer.

Looks cute and stupid at the same time.
