Nov 11 2008Another 'Watchmen' Poster Deluge
Six new posters for Watchmen have been spread to various media outlets, each poster depicting a character from the film standing or squatting near a quote. Above, from the LA Times, is the Comedian lighting his cigar with a flamethrower--the third coolest way to light a cigar after dragon's flame and hellfire. Below the cut: the remaining five!
From EW: Dr. Manhattan quotes the Monty Python parrot sketch.

From MTV: Silk Spectre admits she used to go out at 3 a.m. and do stupid things. Probably like going to Denny's with some friends and ordering way too many fries.

From Wired: Ozymandias looks too much like Chris O'Donnell's Robin.

From Access Hollywood: Nite-Owl hates the right to demonstrate so much.

From USA Today: Rorschach poops.

I hate grammar!
3. Grammar police - November 11, 2008 2:37 PM

5. Elmo - November 11, 2008 2:45 PM
ha ha, and I thought no one would notice... good job, stoopid people
6. GuyBehindtheGuy - November 11, 2008 2:47 PM
I love how they basically took a graphic novel about realistic superheroes and turned it into what looks like a standard superhero movie. It's like Buffalo Bill's Watchmen; it's wearing it's skin but it doesn't feel the same.

Is it just me, or does Ozymandias look less like Robin, and more like Seven of Nine?
Must be the hair and the mask over his eye.
8. Uncle Eccoli - November 11, 2008 2:56 PM
The fellow with the flamethrower obviously doesn't care how his cigar tastes.
Everybody lay off Elmo.
@7 LOL He does look like Seven of Nine. She was one of the best running gags in ST.
9. wendy - November 11, 2008 3:07 PM
Sadly I thought it was Seven of Nine at first and I thought it was a joke poster the iwatchstuff guy mixed in with the rest.
10. zebras - November 11, 2008 3:18 PM

14. Jimbo - November 11, 2008 5:43 PM

I'm so hyped for this movie, these posters look awesome. My boyfriend and I went as the Comedian and Silk Spectre for Halloween, and no, we did not role play for the crowd...

I guess all we need now is a big blue nekkid guy for opening night?
18. AlecEiffel - November 11, 2008 6:50 PM
woah, your boyfriend looks like a real creepy peepy.
19. sully - November 11, 2008 8:00 PM
@17 I hope he grew that mustache for the costume, or else he does, in fact, look fuckin creepy.
@10 That is a horrible thing to say. Shame on you.
Also, that Silk Spectre poster MUST be some sort of sick joke. I bet some idiot at MTV made it... probably Jimmy Fallon
20. Monkeynuts - November 11, 2008 9:25 PM
Comedian isn't even pulling the trigger. Flamethrower must be broken.
21. naive_charm - November 12, 2008 1:22 AM
@19 Oh yeah, he grew it out just for the costume... creeped me out too. Added to the mystique, I guess. The mystique of him not getting laid for a month.
22. Tom - November 12, 2008 1:33 AM
You'd think the casting of Hunger-era David Bowie in the baddie role would've been hyped as a bigger coup. Also these posters are terrible and this movie is terrible so I am going to watch Not Another Not Another Not Movie Not Another Another Movie Movie Movie Movie instead.
23. Bobeyo - November 12, 2008 9:51 AM
When I first hit Ozymandias' face, I thought he was a woman. I actually went and thought "hey, she looks kinda hot" before doing a double-take. Honestly. I'm scred now.
24. Atrides - November 12, 2008 10:32 AM
The Comedian was more built than this during the Vietnam War. His physique is more like his crime-fighting days in the 50's...
25. Sevenace - November 12, 2008 11:13 AM
I bet for halloween Kevin Spacey shaved his head and painted himself blue if so he'd look like Dr. Manhattan's poster.
26. Kyle - November 13, 2008 1:22 PM
Man look at Malin's ass. Perfect.
27. weaselspeed - November 13, 2008 3:32 PM
My biggest disappointment in seeing these is really Ozymandias... he looks like a freakin tool with no chin. Hes supposed to be all sorts of big and ideal looking. AND why the hell are they hinting at the story line in his poster???!??!?! dumb move.
Oh yeah.. i agree with #19
pretty bad
28. mooo - November 14, 2008 1:31 AM
i use balefire to light my cigs
29. Sugreev2001 - November 14, 2008 10:10 AM
Why the hell did they ruin Ozymandius's costume ?
I would want this to be a faithful adaptation of the book.

The comedian is HOTTTTT, SeXXXy
32. Spin - August 13, 2009 5:07 PM
I love all these hate comments, you're all pathetic idiotic tools bashing a movie you haven't even seen yet. I forgot, you all probably loved The Dark Knight, which was a "perfect" representation of the Batman characters from the comics, silly me....
I thought this movie was 90% faithful to the story, which is damn good considering other adaptations of books. Aside from a few changes (some of which were for the better), this movie was just like the comic book. Grow the fuck up, get your mouth off Heath Ledger's nutsack and open your minds.
