Sci Fi Wire has the latest in the series of video journals documenting the making of Zack Snyder's Watchmen adaptation. This one is titled "Blue Monday," and covers how the special effects crew rigged a suit with a bunch of LED lights to simulate Dr. Manhattan's blue aura. Looks like someone should be getting a special thanks in the credits...

Looks like the future of Douchedom.
This is what you sacrifice to look bad-ass in movies. Nice going right there.

Dude looks like that dude from the muppets.

Lmao! I'z thinkin' YUMMMMAY!

Isn't that guy the internet police?

Camel toe??? WTF!?

LOL ohh, Bubba x)
HEY that's the guy whos running for district attorney where I live xD

..wow, they used LED lights?! why? that's strange, you would think that they'd just put the glowy-ness in later... it easier then just making him blue with cgi and incorperating the glow from the lights..... not like he has any surroudings that would reflect anything

@Elmo - the LED lights look like they're only on his hands, so I reckon they're there to simulate Dr. Manhattans glow when it interacts with the other characters skin when he touches her. That would be hard (although not impossible) to replicate with visual effects.

then what are the glowing things all over his costume? on his head and torso... but the light is brighter on his hands

and on the 3rd day god created the tron costume. and it was awsome.

stop hating

@Elmo: Notice the shiny, shiny rubber suit on Ms. Akerman over there. Notice the blue reflections. It'd look awfully weird if only two glowing orbs reflected on there, now wouldn't it?

"then what are the glowing things all over his costume? on his head and torso"

@Elmo: I believe those are tracking balls for motion capture. (e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3v4ITG2xyyk )

The first time I played Tiger Woods '09 after the first hole the leaderboard screen came up, and up in the corner was a little square "I'm a PC" ad with the Tron Guy's face.

I'm not going to lie. I was a little scared. But at the same time I was thankful I didn't have to see his geeky little moose knuckle.

TRON MAN! NOOOOOO~.

Please, merciful media god, let Watchmen be released without all this legal hassle. Don't tease me with Dr. Manhattan's sweet, beautiful ass, and then deny me.

OH MY GOD I'VE BEEN READING THIS SITE FOR A YEAR AND HAVE NEVER COMMENTED. BUT I CAN'T RESIST! THE TOE! THE TOE! ALAVET!

So now I know Tron Guy dresses to the left. I can die knowing my life is complete.

@4, it's called moose knuckle.

FIRST!

and cameltoeeeeeeeeee

Men don't have camel toe not thats a manel toe and i'd have to say it's quite ballsy of him to wear that.

Wow, that looks umm... interesting. Wonder what kind of LEDs he's using.
