Oct 7 2008'TR2N' Will Discriminate Against the Monocular
Sometimes, in between posts, I'll pause just to type the title of the upcoming TRON sequel, TR2N--admiring its simple, unpronounceable elegance--and I'll start to wonder a couple things. Is it "Tur-two-en," "Tron Two," or just "Tron" but you trace a two in the air as you're saying it? Also, could they not squeeze another number or two intermingled about the letters?
I still haven't heard a definitive pronunciation, but at least I not know the answer to the latter question: yes. Yes, they can fit more numbers among the letters. Try TR2N 3D!
From AICN:
The [TR2N] Comic Con teaser was shot in stereoscopic 3D, and the film will be, too. [Director] Kosinski is particularly excited about the look of the game grid in this format.
OK, so maybe no one actually said it would be called TR2N 3D, but it should be. The trailers could say, "This Christmas... get Tronned! Because the 2 is an O and the 3 is an E!"
The director also noted that Watchmen's Michael Wilkinson has joined the crew as costume designer, presumably because he already has some TRON costumes lying around.

How is a 2 even close to the letter O? Yea, I get the whole campy use of the number but still, I don't see as much pant creaming cool in it.
I think "2RON" would be much better.

how about we trace the entire word in the air? huh? yeah?
no....

Doesn't TR2N stand for Total Request Tonight?

Why didn't they call it T2ON, making the two part of an "R" (i.e. "TI2ON")? Don't these execs get spam for "Innocent t33ns getting dis\ /irgined. 2 day FI2ee!" like the rest of us?

Actually 5, if you were going to do something stupid like that you can plainly see that the right side of the "T" actually forms the left side of the "R".
Ex: T2
Of course my "2RON" makes better sense. By the way, I think the IWS guy went thru all of these examples a while back so I can't really take any credit anyway.

@5, I've been thinking the same thing myself since I first saw that written down. It makes much more sense visually to me to write it T2ON, especially if you rotate the 2 clockwise slightly.

TRO2 could make sense too, if the 2 was sideways and a little deformed, looking like an N. And I actually think its pronounced 'tirtone' (like trTWOn)

@IronLantern
"And I actually think its pronounced 'tirtone' (like trTWOn)" is quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever read.
