Jim Caviezel and wife are enjoying a nice long weekend on an idyllic beach. Just throwing some bottles into the ocean and shooting them, spraying anthills with poison, playing old Moby songs--you know, typical beach activities. But it turns out Mother Nature hates those classic American recreations! Mother Nature wants to take away Jim Caviezel's right to throw a beer bottle into the ocean and fire a rifle at it. So Mother Nature starts delivering dead manatees to Jim's campsite, hoping he'll "get the message." And there's some lizards, and a snake, and god, Jim, don't lift that metal bowl!

Here's the trailer. You'll see:

More fuel for my arguments for why I hate camping...

lame. at least it's animals trying to kill them and not fucking trees.

Wow. That looks awful.

I liked the part with the screaming over the shot of ants being sprayed because it was really illustrative of how she was murdering nature.

Holy crap, you weren't kidding, they actually swiped the music from the Dicaprio trailer.

GUNS ARE EVIL! VOTE OBAMA!

i rember the original of this.. it was terrible.. why remake it?

Why does "Hitler In Springtime" come to mind?

No mention at all about the fact that Caviezel's obviously supposed to be playing an Aussie or something? Or that it's set in Australia? Or that Claudia Karvan is one of the most underrated and gorgeous Aussie actresses? C'arn!

It's like a Michael Crichton movie, if Michael Crichton was a redneck warning all the other rednecks about the evils of encroaching on nature's domain . . .

I can't BELIEVE they remade this. Yes, the original was campy (ho ho!) and trashy but it had its own particular awesomeosity. This is just going to be laaaaame.

And, oh no, a dead dugong!? WHAT STRANGE HELL HAVE WE BROUGHT UPON OURSELVES

Music reminds me of Hotel Dusk:Room 215

Opening music reminds me of Hotel Dusk:Room 215.
and I'm sick of the "don't you see what's going on ?" line in horror flicks.

the ruins + the happening= long weekend...blah

apparently jim caviezel is so hot than he can "turn on" nature. and he's so weird that he gets turned on by nature.
haha

Is that the Montauk Monster at 1:25?

Caligula - you are correct. it's Moby's 'porcelain' - from the Beach film/trailer/soundntrack etc.
