Oct 2 2008'Let the Right One In' is Like a Horror 'My Girl'
Here's the trailer for Let the Right One In, a Swedish coming-of-age tale about the most Aryan boy on earth and the girl who moves in next door, who is a secret dracula. Aww, they're both outcasts, and he asks her to be his vampire girlfriend, so it's touching, but she has an insatiable thirst for human blood, so there's also that. It looks good:

Original! Which is unsurprising, considering it is from nowhere near Hollywood.

Ah, the IWatchStuff guy reads Twitch. Been looking forward to this one for a while, considering the last vampire movie that I liked was Interview (and that was only because Kirsten Dunst burned to death at the bottom of a hole).
Also I like the dichotomy of the vampire girl looking more alive than the human boy. Can I just watch this and continue to never see My Girl? If I want to see an actor I hate get attacked by bees, Nicholas Cage has me covered. In bees.

I'm sure there is some random 12 episode anime out there that this was taken from. Swedish movie making and Japanese cartoons go hand in hand right? I will probably watch this at some point, looks sort of interesting.

I saw this 2 weeks ago at a film festival, it was probably one of the better movies I've seen this year

actually looks interesting... everyone and their grandmother is writing vampiric shit all over the place (just a cursory glance towards the YA section of any bookstore proves this) but at least we have a mostly original premise, or at least one that isn't 99% cliches.

This film is based on a very popular swedish novel that broke new grounds over here. And the director is very very good too. At least we will be shown something new and fresh in the Vampiregenre.

Am I the only one who thought the black haired one was the boy and the blonde one was the girl from the initial impression of the still?

I saw this at NatFilm festival in Denmark in April - it's extremely good-looking and very funny, lot of black humour. Never thought it would get a bigger release, but it deserves it.
