Oct 13 2008'JCVD' = Jean-Claude Van Damme = Maybe Great
It still makes no sense to me that JCVD looks good. It seems so desperate and easy, Jean-Claude Van Damme agreeing to play himself, mocking his career--like so many scandal-makers doing SNL cameos to win back the public--but somehow it works. Even with this brief trailer, Van Damme makes himself entirely sympathetic and surprisingly funny, and I come away really wanting to like the aging action star--and desperately hoping rumors of Universal Solider III aren't true. Please don't go from JCVD to that, Jean-Claude. I only took you back because you promised not to drink anymore, and doing another Universal Solider is like running straight to the terrible action movie liquor store.

That does look pretty awesome. I'm more than a little surprised.

I want to know if this flick will feature JCVD's notorius death defying real-life martial arts battle against Segal and Norris in which he rips off the guy from Best of the Best's head? True story, heard it from a friend of a friend of a friend's drycleaner.

The sigh JCVD lets out after his agent tells him Seagal said he would cut off his ponytail is priceless. This movie does look surprising good.

Saw this at the Toronto Film Fest, insanely good... there's one monologue he does where he looks like he could hold the screen with any "main stream" actor in the biz...

Hmm... I don't know if I can forgive him for "Street Fighter", but this actually looks entertaining!

I heard about this film in spring... but this trailer.... Umm! I really like to see this movie cause I miss really good films with actor of my youth ))
Though I remember UnivSold and Street Fighter it's difficult for me to believe that he will "do that again"... but something like this "comedy".... change my opinion.
Thanx, Jean Claude, thanx for all team and you guys too =)

oh yeah and there is a small bit of action in it but no real death defying martial arts stuff from his videos. It is very funny though.

Ah,,, Universal Soldier III has been out on DVD for years, I bought it last year and have probably watched it twice. It's not a bad film but it's nowhere near the original... back to the topic at hand. This trailer looks great and pretty original. I've always liked Jean Claude and the fact that rather then making "Another" high action, light on the story movie; he has made a comment about society and how fame can be a curse. He takes stuff from his own life and intertwines it into this story about a desperate man trying to make life work after the fame has faded. I can't wait for this to hit cinemas her in Aus.

Basically, it's "Pauly Shore is Dead" with a new cast and different filters.

a beautiful rendering of a sad, half-majestic phantom; clearly the greatest battle jean claude van damme ever fought is his own manic suffocation, administered by his own arch nemesis: himself. Thats why this movie makes total fucking sense. his own hysteria is his own euphoria. his own, his own, his own...
