Sep 18 2008Warner Tossin' Around Idea of a 'Watchmen' Sequel
Patrick Wilson, Nite Owl of the lawsuit-plagued Watchmen movie, admitted to MTV News that there has already been talk of a sequel. Kill me:
“It’s all been talked about,” laughed Wilson. “Financially, they like to do that. But all of us, [director] Zack [Snyder] included, all go, ‘How on Earth could you do a sequel or prequel?’”While Wilson acknowledged the presence of a clause in his contract that allowed for sequels, he was quick to add that these types of arrangements are standard fare these days, citing their presence (and even more unlikely use) in Snyder’s previous blockbuster adaptation, “300.”
“Certainly, artistically, I can’t fathom how it would happen,” said Wilson. “But hey, if Alan Moore writes it, I’d love to read it.”
Look, Warner Brothers, I know the sequel part of the contract is standard, there for a "just in case" scenario like all those spare jars of Dr. Manhattan's blue body paint you'd love to use up in another movie or two, but don't. Don't do this. Never do this. And let's never bring it up again.

Do not want.
Seriously though, for the love of God, do not make a sequel...

For the love of anything fucking sacred, it shouldn't be a second thought.

I think if treated correctly, done in the real style of a 40's movie and really taking in the factors of the time, I think a prequel might be kind of cute. If it was sort of kept separate from the Watchmen timeline and all. I think that could be a really tasteful item, especially if the previous generation doesn't get as much screen time as they deserve in the Watchmen film.
A sequel though? Agh. I really doubt it.

Cant they just focus on getting the first one out of legal limbo and released on time before they start talking this.
Or how about this shouldnt even be a topic of conversation because its the worst idea ever.

This is a bad rumor and Im sure it was mentioned in passing by some idiot who's never read the book. This will never happen and will get no mention. And if it does get made I doubt any of the actors will agree to do it, or the director because it will be such a horrendous bomb and hated, people will boycott it. So it's a non story.

Well why not ? They could made a sequel where Dr. Manhattan meets THAT cloud from the (not so) Fantastic 4 ROTSS, which they gave the name of that awesome character from Marvel, Galactus, and they could as well make them fall in love for some female character like.....err.....Britney Spears , and with the universe in the verge of destruction because of a juvenile lack of self confidence, we might learn an important lesson ourselves: Hollywood producers stink like shit.

Let's make a sequel to the Bible while were at it... this time it's personal.

Number of people who go to crappy superhero movies > fervent fans of Watchmen who will cry if this happens. Therefore sequel is not as unlikely as it bloody well should be.

I could watch two hours of Doctor Manhattan melting Vietcong, The Comedian napalming children & Rorschach torturing people & killing dogs. That is a viable movie, right?

Err... please, no?
Suggest a '301' sequel if they leave this one alone.
