Sep 26 2008'Valkyrie' Trailer is Good Enough to KILL HITLER
If you've been looking for a film full of Hiter killin', constant whispering, torturing mosquitos with cigarettes, and Tom Cruise's wild-(one)-eyed stares, Valkyrie is going to be your favorite. Check out the new trailer:
I'm genuinely surprised how good Valkyrie looks. I'd say it might make me forget the mediocrity of Bryan Singer's Superman Returns, but I think I've already forgotten all of Superman Returns. Not a memorable film. That's what I'm saying.

Tommy looks like a miniature Kurt Russell.

Yeah, the video isn't working for me either

I'm disappointed - from the looks of it, Tom Cruise doesn't have a German accent. By that I mean a British accent like the rest of the cast.

What a disappointing trailer...by the looks of it, without tom cruise this movie could have been interesting, taking a completely different look at WWII than the traditional holocaust/london blitz/pearl harbour celebrity clusterfuck.
But how weird is it that there was no shot of Hitler in the trailer? i mean, isn't that what we're expecting? i know i was...it's so rare to see an actor play him that i'm more interested to see that actor's performance than cruise's. Also, no accent? Really? Everyone knows a fake German accent = Oscar gold.

Well, the trailer is pretty good, anyway. And what the heck, Eddie Izzard ISN'T doing a German accent?! I am disappointed.

Kind of really (REALLY) surprised anyone is excited for this. I watched the trailer this morning and my first thought was this could be a massive bomb. Things being what they are, I fully did not expect a big budget movie about Nazi Germany to be, you know, in German, but they don't even attempt German accents?!

there are no german accents because english accents dont make anz sense when you are trying to portray a foreign speaker. you can either talk enlish, normally as you would in a play for example or make it in the native language, but not an ugly, non-logical mix.

This movie should have been in German.
13. TetraShiva - September 27, 2008 10:44 AM
Es wäre besser auf Deutsch!

I saw the trailer for this in the theater like a year ago then they pulled it. Most movies that get pushed back end up being shit, plus it has Tom Cruise with an eye patch in it, looks horrible.

That looks like a excellent movie to watch and make fun of with my friends. Funnier than Superman Returns which I didn't think was possible.
16. Jannamon - September 27, 2008 12:03 PM
But will it be as good as Never Back Down??
17. CaptainMorgan - September 27, 2008 4:31 PM
Cruise in a movie does not equal box office success anymore. THIS certainly won't be Oscar material. It will do okay - I'm guessing 50-65 million total. No more.
It is funny to hear english accents and an american accent all pretending to be German. It will be distracting to the audience. I was hoping there would be Snoop Dogg or some other brother to keep it real. A Hans and Frans cameo would have been golden.
Denied.

come on guys if you wan german so bad, i#m shure their will be a german syncronisation!

hitler is played by the dude who stars in the bean films
20. Snoodle - September 27, 2008 10:20 PM
However Tom Cruise acts...I'm betting (hoping?) the lovely supporting cast (Eddie Izzard, Bill Nighy...etc.) can pull it through. The 'everybody-use-your-normal-accent!' thing they've got going on bothers me a bit though...

It's no Days of Thunder but another Cruise classic!
Well done Tom, well done indeed sir!
22. Jayfournines - September 29, 2008 8:57 AM
Tom Cruise is clearly in a came scene from Never Back Down
23. momboelitist - September 29, 2008 11:23 AM
I'd like to know where Col Klink, Sgt Shultz and Col Hogan are?
24. RAVAGE - September 29, 2008 12:26 PM
Hey Sean Connery played a Russian commander with a scottish accent. But Tom Cruise you are no Sean Connery!
THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE!
25. zach - September 29, 2008 2:07 PM
pardon my smart assness but his character was lithuanian, technically a USSR commander. so maybe lithuanians sound scottish?
26. Adolf Hitler - September 29, 2008 4:42 PM

27. Beastman AIDS - September 30, 2008 2:59 AM
I don't know what the fuck is up with you guys thinking Tom Cruise is a bad actor - hasn't any one seen Legend?? BEST. MOVIE. EVER.
No i'm not being sarcastic.

If I want German accents, I'll go to Germany or South Dakota. I want a movie I can understand. Yay! for English.
29. David - October 8, 2008 11:50 AM
OH -let's all dis Tom Cruise , that is the cool thing isnt it?? What a bunch of losers. THE MOVIE LOOKS GOOD. And enough with the german accent comments. When someone that well known makes a movies in another land/time, they never change their accents.
