Sep 18 2008'Synecdoche, New York' Trailer: You'll Love It

synecdoche-new-york-trailer.jpg

I couldn't tell you exactly what's going on in this trailer to Synecdoche, New York, but the film is written and directed by Charlie Kaufman and stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, so I'm sure it's as great as it seems.

That was the librarian from Ghostbusters at the end, right?

looks like an interesting film but the titles totally took me out of every scene. bad trailer.

what do I smell like
I donno, like your menstruating
I don't menstrat so how can I smell like I'm menstruating

now I have to see this movie

@8: lol, me too

i didn't get half of that trailer!
looks good though hah

like 6 out of 7 characters named were women! strange

I am oddly a little in love with Philip Seymour Hoffman. The priest pedophile character of his in the trailer posted yesterday took me a little out of it, but I'm right back around with this.

considering it's charlie kaufman, i'm assuming its not a coincidence that synecdoche sounds a lot like schenectedy (a town in new york), but then maybe i'm crazy.

can't wait to see this.

@ 12 - Yes, it's a pun on Schenectedy.

Looks AMAZING!

Does anyone know who plays the music in the background?
Sounds beautiful

Wow.
It looks beautiful.

totally ghostbusters library lady.

the music should be from Jon Brion

@17
Thanks!

Oh for Christ's sake. "Synecdoche" is not a reference to "Schenectady," and even if it were, that is not what "pun" means.

@ 19:

Sincere apologies Jessica. Did I say 'pun'? I meant 'play'.

Here are some more helpful Wikipedia links for you!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synecdoche,_New_York

"The title is a play on Schenectady, New York, where some of the story takes place, with synecdoche, which reflects a trope of the film."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitch

"...Frequently used as a term for a malicious, spiteful, domineering, intrusive, or unpleasant person, especially a woman."
