Sep 10 2008New 'Quantum of Solace' Trailer is Pure Awesome Things
About a month ago, when the Death Race trailer came out, I offhandedly mentioned to my roommate how bad it looked. He asked what happens in it, and my response was something like, "I don't know. It's just Jason Statham driving around in a car with guns, and some other guys are attacking him in their rival cars with flamethrowers and spikes."
Him: "That sounds kind of awesome."
Me: "Yeah, as I was describing it I was thinking how that sounded kind of awesome too. But it's actually not. Trust me."
My point is, this trailer for Quantum of Solace succeeds where that failed because, when I describe all the jumping and shooting and driving motorcycles over things, it actually will be because it's awesome, and that's a surprisingly rare feat in a world where that should always be pretty awesome. It also succeeds where the Death Race trailer failed in that it's not a trailer for Death Race. So watch it.

@ 3. haha. i wish eva green hadn't died in the other one.
note: i like how bond is supposedly distraught over the loss of vesper...but you know he's going to get some punannay in this one. it wouldn't be a bond flick without it.

1:23 is pretty much the coolest falling-through-a-glass-ceiling shot I've ever seen.

looks awesome, Forster is doing a lot of those move-with-the-motion/action shots, or however you want to call it, and looks good, Bond's back baby.
how could George Lucas be the only man you could trust? Bond prolly didnt see the Crystal Skull then..

Hey, bought Thunderball today at Wallyworld for nine bucks! Take that you $75 boxed set of Bond films with 1 or 2 good movies and some Roger Moore and Lazenby shit!
Wait, Amazon has them down to $50 now. Still, Lazenby? Ultimate Edition indeed!
I love women, always have and always will, but Daniel Craig is one fine looking fella.

yeah looks way cool, but can anyone explain what the name of the film means?
20. JP - September 12, 2008 3:43 PM
Quantum is the name of the baddie organization.
I would assume the "of solace" reflects whats going on inside bond's head with what happened to vesper, the revenge, etc etc.

Poor thing! What have you done with yourself over the last 45 days??

"Poor thing! What have you done with yourself over the last 45 days??"
....watched The Dark Knight.

HELL YES!!!
This is the way I have always wanted to see Bond. I get the idea of why they took the first bond book to kick off Daniel as the new Bond. They are starting the entire medium over again. The spies, secret organization, etc. Forget everything about the bond you used to know. It's not about the toys and fanciful gadgets, it's about the characters and story.
HELL YES!!!

Does anybody remember how hard this guy trashed the first new Bond film before it came out? He ripped on Daniel Craig and the entire movie, every chance he got. But once it came out, and it was the best Bond ever, he changed his tune. Duche. That movie was kick ass and safe bet this one will kick ass, too.

wow... the trailer itself had enough action scenes to fill at least three movies. This looks awesome!!
