Sep 29 2008Never Forget There's a 'Pink Panther 2' Coming with This Gorgeous Poster
Like an ashen Punxsutawney Phil, every February Steve Martin tentatively emerges from his paw-shaped, magenta burrow to a waning crowd of resigned onlookers, each hoping the actor will see his shadow--an indication Steve Martin will return to making The Jerk-quality films instead of broad comedies about having twelve children. Unfortunately, the looming shadows of Queen Latifah and the cast of Cheaper by the Dozen 2 have stopped any light from reaching Martin in some time, so it's looking pretty again bleak this year.

What the freaking fuck. There should have never been an attempt at a first one. Why not learn from Peter Sellers and stop from getting trapped into the neverending Pink Panther franchise? Oh George Santayana, you were right!

He's been upfront about this: He makes movies like this--and Cheaper by the Dozen--for the money so he can buy his art and take his time and write his brilliantly funny plays (Picasso at the Lapin Agile), essays (Pure Drivel), and novellas (Shopgirl--even if it sucked as a movie).
He may or may not do the Father of the Bride films because he has a thing for Diane Keaton--but do you blame him?
