Sep 22 2008Megatron Turns into This Tank in 'Transformers 2'

Latino Review has the first images of what is said to be Megatron's non-robot guy form in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Looks like he turns into an evil version of the tank from Star Fox 64, and possibly also a Precious Moments figurine, which is a great idea for a non-robot form. So cute but so deadly, and also Christian and on grandma's shelf.

first? looks like a frggin toy.

I know nothing about this franchise; but based on the Camaro and Mack Truck transformers, I was under the impression that the robots turned into things that could easily infultrate our everyday world here on Earth. Megatron here looks like a tank version of the fear emotion.

Kinda sucks, I was hoping he turned into the large Hadron collider.

Good point #2. Now tell me who does #2 work for.

@2 in the original cartoon megatron turned into a giant laser gun thing.

A tank? I fail to see how that is any sort of vehicle, much less a freakin tank. Thanks Michael Bay.

In the GI Joe crossover he turned into a tank because we feared that kids might be shot if they held a plastic mauser pistol with stock and silencer...damn you mom I was the coolest kid but you had to take it away and give me Shockwave with that stupid purple plastice penis thing on his hand. Now I'm gay!

At least I had soundwave and the transformable tapes!

Doh I meant a Walther P-38

I really hope it's one of those "fake" pics they planned on releasing.

Kinda curious how they're going to explain how Megatron comes back to life after having the All Spark bitch slap him. Maybe this is another Decepticon who takes on the name of Megatron or something? I mean thats how it worked in the Beast Wars cartoon when I was a kid. :-/

I think the tank is a cool idea though we already had a tank in the first film. He should go back to being a gun that starscream can shoot (like the original) but that concept defies all laws of physics lol.

Megatron (from his G1 persona to others) never really struck me as being all that concerned about "blending in". I mean he only turned into his gun form when he felt like it, and in later incarnations never really became something that didn't stand out. He was more concerned about power, and if this incarnation of Megs is anything like his predecessor the tank is an option over walking.

How does Megs comeback? My guess is residual traces of Allspark energy. That or he downloaded himself onto the internet, gradually gaining resources to build a new body.

...This is supposed to be a tank? Looks more like a shiny hunk of scrap metal to me. Eh.

Perhaps its a tribute to Galvatron from the post Transformers: The Movie. Megatron was "killed" and brought back to life as Galvatron. He had all his orginal memories, just a bad ass new look as a huge futuristic cannon. I would be good with it if they explained it that way in the up coming movie.

Also recall that Megatron in the first Bay movie turned into a futuristic jet and was the only transformer in the movie to use lasers as weapons not earth based weaponry as the others did.

You're all kidding with this figure out the transformer thing, right?

I mean, come on! Shia Lapew is raking in the cash and doing it with Megan Fox! I'd be more interested in doing it with Megan Fox than whether some metal car is actually a tank.

Kill me now!

Sweet, a Starfox reference. So cool. I'm not being sarcastic either.

Woah. it transforms into the batmobile?

I agree with #15 This is not the real Issue. The real issue is why has Megan Fox not come over to our house.

wow, that looks intense

U know dammit! I agree with 18 as well; why hasn't Megan Fox come over to our house?! This is unacceptable! I want to speak to the head of the complaints department immediately!!

lasers are not earth based weaponry then?

BTW, the #2 comment cracked me up.. brilliant
