Hah! At first I couldn't figure out what makes this poster is so funny to me, but I think I got it now. It's that every aspect is horrible.

Is Hollywood on drugs

hater.

Is this a remake? Reboot? Reinvisioning? Retelling? Retarded?

Isn't it supposed to be: The wages of sin ARE death? Since "wage" is plural? I'm sorry to be the grammar police, but that shit is just going to bug me to no end.

@jecka - No it is "the wages of sin is death" taken from the Biblical passage, Romans 6:23.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord." (New International Version) Actually, most Bible versions translate it that way "for the wages of sin is death;".

Frank Peretti (and I assume Ted Dekker) are Christian authors - Peretti writes thrillers and his books are pretty creepy. But this story seems to take the creepiness factor even further.

Is Hugh Laurie in there? bastards!!

Lulzorz Elmo I was going to say the same thang! You predict Gumps future silly actions. Quit hidin' behind da name Elmo & readin ma cardz, Miss Cleo!

I've read a few of Peretti's... back in high school when i was a roller, but I remember the action sequences reading really well... this could go either way for me right now...

YAY Bubba Gump loves me xD

Wasnt there a an old 80's horror movie called house. I have some vague recollection of some kind of zombie sitting in a basement, watching television... and being out of toilet paper? Am I just imagining things, or is that actually a movie? Now Im confused.

My review of the book this "movie" is based on from Amazon.com:

"I'm an avid reader (and Christian) and have eagerly gobbled up Ted Dekker's Blink, Three, as well as the Circle trilogy. As far as Christian novelists go, I feel like there really is none better than Ted.

I have also read several of Peretti's works and can honestly say, I feel like I'm being treated like a child while reading his stuff. He just keeps repeating himself over and over, and his last novel "Monster" failed to even keep my attention long enough for me to finish it---and it was an Audio CD! When I read a Peretti novel, I find myself basically saying "OKAY! I get it Peretti! You don't have to keep pounding the same message into my head over and over." Also, I feel like Peretti's books never really end in an unpredictable manner, whereas Dekker is a master of the twist ending. That's why I've come to believe that this novel is more Peretti than Dekker.

What it does do well is set a creepy atmosphere of a house that is alive. What it SUCKS at, is setting itself apart and doing anything different from any other haunted house movies/books that we've all read in the past. True, the end result of what the house actually WAS was quite different from most horror movies, but the execution was just plain lame and not scary at all. In fact, I felt like it ripped off just about every famous horror movie. "Poltergeist", "House on haunted hill", oh...and most assuredly, the recent inbred freakshow "Wrong Turn."

As things kept coming in the book, I kept finding myself thinking, "OKay...this is about as SCARY as an amusement park ride through a haunted house." And don't EVEN get me started on how many million times we have to read about shotguns being fired off. BOOM!!!!!!! It just gets tired, and by the end of it, I wasn't really any more satisfied than when I began it.

About the only saving grace this novel has is that it's a quick read. While people will talk about how fast you can rip through it because it's so addictive, what REALLY speeds up the process, is how large of a font they use, how big the margins are, and how large the space is between lines of text. Oh...and TONS of partial pages that end the chapters.

Having just come off reading several Jeffery Deaver novels beforehand, perhaps I was just expecting too much out of the authors on this. Well...I mean...how could you not? It's Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker. The two best writers in Christian fiction. But they seriously missed the mark on this one and it seemed like the whole thing just took an amalgamation of horror movies, throw in some Christian mumbo-jumbo, and ended.

It sucked."

@ # 10 - yea there was, and the tagline was 'dingdong. youre dead." (no joke)

the cover was a severed zombie hand ringing a doorbell.. I saw it at my redneck neighbors house when i was 5 and it gave me nightmares for years..

If the book was that bad, we can only hope that the movie is just as horrible.

Well if Cuddy strips in this one, I'm there.

It's actually a good book. I'm sure Hollywood will make this retarded though.

YES! But will it beat out the sequel "House 2, the second story!" Hahaha oh god.

@Kristi/#5: Yes, if the entire sentence is :FOR the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord." then the correct usage is is; however, since their sentence is ONLY "The wages of sin is death" then it doesn't make since to use "is". "The wages of sin are death" has been used over and over in various movies and tv, so assumption of orgin is not the issue.

Yes, there was a 1986 movie called HOUSE. It was actually a comedy horror movie. And yes, there was a sequel called HOUSE 2: THE SECOND STORY. The first had William Katt (Greatest American Hero) in it and the second had Bill Maher and John Ratzenburger.

I don't know, the trailer looked pretty good to me.

I think there were 3 House movies, although the 2nd and 3rd were completely unconnected to the first one, and I think, to each other. They just wanted to use the name of a popular movie to sell tickets. So is this another completely unconnected one, or what? I think it is. They should have gone with "Ding-dong- you're dead" again for the tagline.
