Sep 8 2008De Niro Leaves 'Edge of Darkness', Presumably Now in Darkness
Here's a tip: if you're ever directing a Robert De Niro movie, do not try to get this really awesome shot where you capture De Niro, the Boston skyline, and a golf bunker all in the frame at once. I know you're thinking, "But that's an amazing shot, symbolic of how the weight of city life can pull a man down and get him stuck, like in a sand trap," but Robert De Niro hates that shot, and he will leave the production if you try to get this amazing shot. Or at least that's what I got out of this story:
Just days after he arrived in Massachusetts to begin filming scenes for Edge of Darkness, Robert De Niro has quit the film. "Sometimes things don't work out; it's called creative differences," a spokesman for the actor told Daily Variety. Earlier this week the Boston Herald reported that De Niro had been spotted filming scenes at the 15th hole of the Gannon Golf Club while director Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) attempted to set up a shot that would show the actor, a sand trap and the Boston skyline in the shot.
This would have been the first team-up between Mel Gibson and Robert De Niro, your favorite actor and your favorite drunk anti-semite who was in Lethal Weapon. I guess some things are just too beautiful to live.

I think nobody likes the I Watch Stuff Writer, he gets very few comments :(

It's too bad Superfish and Geekologie get more attention. (just look at the comments, especially every superfish post)
This blog is more informative.

Well we have our disagreements when it comes to Star Wars, but I personally love all three writers. They're like the Triforce, but way more awesome.
Watcher gets his fair share of comments, as does the Geekologie writer, but Superfish blows them all away because it's a celebrity site. Look at the quality of comments in the post section. Most of them aren't even btard quality. Any site about celebs is going to bring in the trash. Every site on the internet has it's fair share, but certain types really draw them out. Nothing against Fish, it's just the theme.
"She's too thin." "I'd tap that like BAM" "That's because you like little boys." Ugh. I didn't have the heart to type it as grammatically incorrect as they do. I should stop rambling, so I'll just say, differences aside Watcher, I love you.

Out of all these blogs, I think the I Watch Stuff writer is the funniest & wittiest. Second place goes to the Superficial writer, and lastly the Geekologie writer.

The superficial draws mindless idiots which makes up the majority of the populace anyway. He's also very liberal and makes his politics quite apparent and since liberals tend to not be working as much as conservatives they have more time to make mindless comments.
The Geekologie guy draws the funny, creative people as well as few from the intelligent crowd. This is where most of the fun is IMO. There are trends and funny little clicks over there. Lots of witty sarcasm as well.
The IWS writer draws a lot more from the intelligent crowd (although, not always). Intelligent people tend to reserve comment more often. Further, there are less of these people. I am very satisfied with the IWS' blogging but prefer to read more and post less, which isn't always bad.

even though the iwatchstuff writer is too thin, i still enjoy his posts. not to mention i'd hit the iwatchstuff writer like BAM*! this blog is the most informative of the three - geekologie has similar posts to boingboing sometimes, and thesuperificial is great for the trash but aside from the commentary is nothing you couldn't get in a number of different places. this place is informative, funny and full of what i think is pretty original content.
*he and i share an affinity for little boys

momboelitist - ahhhaha. admitting you're an elitist (and insinuating that you're an intelligista) doesn't make you any less of a douche - it just makes you a smarmy self-aware douche. please continue to read more and post less, for the benefit of us all. and yes, i am aware that i've now become one of those flame post morons, and wow, it actually kind of does feel good!

@8, I never insinuated anything concerning myself. Further my name is more of a joke than anything.
It would seem that my opinion really bothers you for some reason. Could it be that you are one of those jobless, whiny, bitchy liberals that posts on the Superficial? I'm not saying you are, I'm just wondering.
I prefer not to flame you because quite frankly you don't seem to possess the aptitude to understand my meaning.
Have a nice day!

i guess i was wrong on the self-aware assessment. you live and learn!
